To be honest I can't remember what we changed from the beta to release version. Of course a functioning multiplayer (both coop and PvP), story and tons of fixes and balance tweaks, and major performance enhancements mostly... already have plans for a few updates we're working on, and hopefully if the game does well we'll be able to do some huge updates... but lets wait for launch first - you never know how well a game will do in this biz...

Yes. They are to buy packs of the diamonds. This only serves to expedite the process of upgrades as well as crafting new weapons/armors/runes/shields. You collect an ample supply throughout the game. ALWAYS with Foursaken, the IAP is optional/a cheat/heavy game modifier/etc. that does not impact the fully-featured base game at all. I might add; as always, Foursaken games are worth far more than $1.99. The IAP serve as a GREAT WAY to add to the "tip jar" for the bros for the best gaming on mobile... and in this case, some of the best gaming I've EVER had.
Damn, will there be any way to get free "diamonds"? A lot of games have these options to watch ads or download other games for in game currency. Not sure if that would be a good idea here but something to consider, make some income from the people who wouldn't spend money on iAPs in the first place.
Alright cool, I'll definitely have to play for a while to make any quick judgements on the iAP and freemium model in the game but it was just an additional suggestion. Still looking forward to this game a lot!
To give you an idea, I played h and c for at least 200 hours. That's 1c per hr. @1.99 purchase price. I feel guilty, and I'm getting iap this time to atone for my freeloading sins. There is nothing freemium about the h and c series, just a genius mashup of 3 genres I love.....see you in the pit.....
