Sorry about this, I will delete the comment. As Primoz mentioned, it was made quite out of context anyway, and I'm sure it won't be relevant in the release version of the game anyway. And as Sambosung mentioned, many of the crashes I did experience were with full settings in situations where the game's limits were being maxed out (like a siege with the max amount of units summoned. Basically, I doubt many players will see these crashes often. The game is quite stable. Still, I doubt the 4g can run this, but maybe with the right optimization it will be possible. That is not up to me to decide, nor will I be testing that.
I've sunk probably 30-40 hours into this game easy and I've only beat the game with one character lol. Yeah I feel like everyone will be playing this for quite a while.
Don't worry, no problem Yeah I'm not saying one way or the other what low end devices H&C2 will run on yet... we won't say until the day we submit and are absolutely sure. We hired a few voice actors to do all the voices.
Joypad used to let people build that into games: http://toucharcade.com/2011/08/18/joypad-updated/ And a few devs have done it natively on their own, like Chopper did a few years back: http://toucharcade.com/2010/11/29/video-of-chopper-2-for-mac-using-an-iphone-as-a-controller/ It was a neat idea, but never felt that great for games where you needed to be paying attention to what buttons your fingers were pushing. Like a dual stick shooter or a single-tap game would be fine, but games with lots of virtual buttons not so much.
Until we get a cerebral controller built right into the phone, I'm fine with using on-screen buttons.
The controls in H&C 2 are actually not that bad to be honest. They're actually pretty good. Maybe the only thing that will have some difficulty is using bows but that's it.
Difficult as in "terrible" or difficult as in "hard to master"? I remember from the first H&C that I wasn't too keen on ranged controls, because they weren't well made. Is it the same in H&C2?
Well I'm playing on iPad2 and honestly they are pretty easy to use. I'd say they are difficult in the hard to master sense. I feel the controls are better in the second game than in the first by quite a bit. That and I don't know if what I'm saying is isn't spoiling too much
The ranged controls were not that hard in H&C 1 they are only difficult if you are a beginner and never used them before.
I've never really felt like I needed a controller for this game. The touch controls work perfectly fine, especially for melee characters. Bows are harder to use since they have a drop, and they don't instantly reach the target so you have to lead, but that's part of the fun (and there are skills that mitigate this somewhat). I haven't had any problems with rifles or gunpowder weapons, since that aiming aspect isn't as difficult. But just based on the pacing of the game, if you play your cards right you should never really be in a position where you are really rushed and need to be able to aim much more quickly and precisely (like you could with a controller, maybe). The strategy of unit placement/research skills typically can buy you the time you need to line up your shots, and I feel like it might actually be harder to use a controller, given the number of on screen buttons for this game. Just my $.02.
Interesting, thanks! Yeah seems like it could defeat the purpose of having a "controller" without the tactile support... I could imagine it being tough to basically use touch screen controls without looking at them... I guess needless to say that won't be in this game But we do have regular controller support! Well, the good part is now that equipment is separate from your hero, you can choose to play however you want! If you don't like bows, no problem You could always go for the more straightforward crossbow, or some of the gun type weapons.
i want to say many apps in ios8 had below bugs...heroes and castles 2 had this BUGS..if had it..please fix it .... http://stackoverflow.com/questions/25848441/app-shutdown-with-exc-resource-wakeups-exception-on-ios-8-gm
Quick question and not sure if anywhere in this thread so I apologize if so. Will this have icloud support so I can seamlessly play at home on my ipad and then continue oh iphone at work?
There is an iCloud save feature. You can manually save to and load from the cloud, so if you can remember to upload your save from your iPad at home you should be good to go. I'm only testing on one device though, so I can't speak to how well it works.
