I don't want to comment on this quite yet (don't want to give wrong information one way or the other). For this game, whether it happens or not would be more about feasibility from a game play perspective than anything else (lots of touch screen inputs). But in any case, that would be something we'd work in towards the very end of development, or in a post release update. Will have more news no controller support later! What do you mean by dynamic vs set maps? Do you mean like, can any map have any scenario on it? If so, then yes... you can have skirmish, defend, siege, or siege and defend missions on any map, depending on the situation. P.S. quick update... right now we're waiting on some pretty major engine additions that will help in performance significantly, dealing with our games that have an especially high number of objects. With more advanced terrain (thick grass, lots of level detail, ~100 units out at once, etc), its pretty much a requirement for good performance at this point. Its a big engine rework, hence the extra time its taking to start beta >_< Sorry about the delay guys!
They answered this on page 22. They said that they are not certain that android will release the same day as iOS but that it definitely will at some point in time.
Suggestions: Hold a trigger button to open a scrolling/panning set of icons. Left and Right Triggers for each of the Build and Hire commands. While holding the trigger buttons down, the left and right face button scrolls through options. Letting go of the trigger buttons will build/hire the icon selected. Alternatively, have buttons dedicated to build and hire, similar to how MHFU implements switching items and then pressing the left face button to consume/use the item chosen. I think if most of the gameplay mechanics is somewhat similar to the first H&C, 4 directional buttons, 4 face buttons, and 2 shoulder buttons should be enough for each of the activated skills, attacks and move commands.
Every time threads like this become inactive for periods of time I wonder if half of the population has been destroyed by some massive epidemic that I don't know about because I don't watch the news. Everyone's still alive though, right? Right!?
Heh, don't worry - just haven't been giving much news to talk about! Kind of in the bleh phase of development: polish, balance, and engine stuff so there's not much to report on, even though we're definitely on the cusp of entering beta... the game is so massive that its taking a bit longer than we hoped for this phase, but its necessary. In the meantime here's a new screen, inside the castle walls. Will try to release some more gifs next week too.
That looks amazing. Pretty sure people are just watching and waiting for more awesome things like that screenshot. Oh man can't wait for this game to come out.
Are u freaking kidding me ? This look exactly like a masterpiece , a definite GOTY for ios platform. Furthermore, Im not so surprised , since FM is behind this game , they never disappoint me , not even once . Hope I can joining the beta too , even though I will still buy it later when it releases no matter what .
