For those who are putting shit on this dev.. He's actually optimizing the game for the 1 gig ram devices. Saw the demo he posted. Seems to be easy technical fix but with a lot of work to be done. I think the dev deserves another chance.
Oh-sorry about that! Someone used (site name redacted) as a verb, I had no clue what he meant. Until I googled...my bad
If they can fix the bugs, sure I'll give them a chance. I already own the PC version and it is a fun little game that would seem to fit perfectly on mobile.
I think everyone gave him/them a second chance when they tried downloading this.....the original was pulled with a fairly categoric "f-you iOS gamers" despite it being a paid app. Now, discounted or not, we're expected to pay again for another shambolic effort if we want to play the game? I think what you're asking for is technically a third chance....or even 4th or 5th when you also consider the progressively downward spiral of updates they released for the first game. Just putting it out there.
Your English is just fine! And your points are all completely spot on. IF the dev can make good on his current promise to optimise for 1gb devices... maybe. But I'd still be very leery given his history.
This actually upsets me a little. You know the original version of the game YOU MADE could run on an iPhone 4s with 512mb of ram right? Why do you need 4gb of ram for your top down sprite based game made in game maker? iOS devices never needed that much memory because even my iPhone 4s could run Grand Theft Auto San Andreas, a PS2 game well worth $10 and more. Here's an idea, if you don't want to or can't optimize your new version of the game for older devices, how about bringing back the original version of the app that could run fine on those devices and just updating it so it runs properly?
I'm pretty sure the PS2 had less than 100mb of RAM, let alone 512mb. But I see your point, it's a good point about the old version
I assume the minimum iPhone 6S requirement is some kind of joke, a satire on the fast-moving world of Apple devices. Should have just been an iPhone 7 requirement, on iOS 10.4, just to ram it home. What a huge chunk of the market to simply write off. But, given what else I've read on this thread, sticking two fingers up at iOS gamers does not seem out of character. Shame. Looks like an interesting game.
That's the worst part. The dev seems incapable of standing behind his products if the past debacle is any indicator... and not particularly astute if he didn't even realize the specs for devices he was writing for... the latter being easily attained with a 10s search. It's a great looking game and right up my alley. But I'll be dawned if I'll support someone who is so much more adept at shifting blame than producing code.
He actually deleted that post about the 1gb RAM on the iPhone 6 from Facebook after a bunch of people called him out on it
Considering this is NOT his first go around on iOS and totally screwed those who bought the game the first time around....I'd say it's more than fair game to bash him. Seriously, this could have all been caught if they actually had beta testers with literally any device other than an iPad Air 2 or iPhone 6S. Remember this is the same dev who dismissed concerns about updating the earlier game because they only cared about Steam.
Guys I don't mean to be nasty here so please don't take it that way, but can someone explain to me the purpose of keeping this thread open anymore? It seems like all we're doing now is making sure everyone gets their opportunity to come in and take a jab at the developer. Thinking of just locking this until the optimization update hits? There's really not much reason for this thread keep getting bumped, it's just adding to the toxic and super negative vibe we're trying to do something about around here.
I still got old version. Much better than new. On both my android and iPhone. Works fine...no 2gb ram limit....works a charm. No need to rebuy.
