Thanks for the reply. Just read the entire thread and I will be avoiding this. I was a huge fan of the first when it was originally release. I was personally apart of the rise and fall of the original. Too bad, here's hoping that one day a loot based wayward souls comes to iOS Edit: every review on the AppStore so far for this version is critical. No one can play, as crashing / not loading is still a thing. Game=unplayable it seems.
My post was deleted and that's all good but everything I said was accurate.. I didn't call them terrorists either if your referring to me @metal casket.. Check out their tweets.. As far as the game is concerned, why would anyone buy this after the previous debacle?
I think it's great for people to express their dissatisfaction with games that genuinely don't meet their expectation, especially if they've spent money on it. I'm glad, actually, I'm more than glad, I'm freaking overjoyed that we have a platform like TA to spread the word about games that have no business being sold in the appStore. But to unleash a litany of unfounded comments is not the way to go, I'm my opinion. I'd say spread the word about the messed up game and then boycot it or something.
100% agree and i'd ask the moderator in question to consider why he takes this pro developer stance to the point of making snide remarks towards one of the most respected posters on this forum This is a place to discuss games and therefore developers, not a hug box for terrible developers who release crappy games. At least that's what i thought it was. This thread has got me thinking i might be wrong though On topic i've gotten a refund which i believe is the first time i've done that with a game. Normally i would have given the dev the benefit of the doubt and waited a week to let them fix it but given their horrible attitude i'm not interested in giving them any money and i will make sure never to buy any of their games again, on any platform
Good call, echoed my concerns too. Thanks for the fair editing of my post (ie leaving the comments about the rerelease and price increases etc) and removing the rest. Well moderated. #
I know there's been some concerns regarding moderating on this site before but I have to say, in my experience it has always been fair. Yes, I struggle with the often 'pro-dev' stance the TA team take but then that's the nature of their game - alienating those that you have been reliant on to build your reputation is not good for business but a balance has to be struck. Just as much as they need us, they need the support from devs to provide the material to keep us reading and generating their income. If you were to weigh up the number of permitted negative but constructive remarks made by users in these forums with the number of ranting and/or inflammatory remarks that that have been removed, I think it would be fairly clear that the perceived 'censorship' isn't nearly as apparent as some may think. Have a good experience and you tell one or two, have a bad one and you repeatedly tell the world - we all do it. And let's not forget, nowhere does it state that you are free to post whatever you like. Like all forums, there are rules and there are those that are empowered to enforce them. No one likes authoritarianism but somebody has to police these sites or it would just be a sh!t slinging fest. I've said my piece and I won't comment further - im not a fan of censorship but things like this need putting in to perspective. No one has removed your liberty or freedom - they've just stopped an argument escalating. Good work.
I came here to find out about this game and have to scroll through all these pages to find the first positive comment lol! Can anyone comment on the game itself? I love the Diablo type games and this seems similar to it. Can anyone confirm if I play on my iPhone, can I carry on the same profile on my iPad?
How can people post positive reviews if they say it is not playble? Maybe that's why we don't have any kind of feedback yet.
It's too bac bc the previous incarnation on iOS was pretty fun. But it stopped working as well. Gotta get your ducks in a row, boys!
This! If you want to develop games in more than one platform you need something more flexible than Game Maker or something custom. For me it was wrong move to release it on mobiles this. If on PC was good keep it there. Specially after the problems of the first release. For me is crashing on both of my devices (iPad Air and iPhone 5s). Anyway it seems that it will be my first ever refund in the last 8 years I am buying games from AppStore. It s not that I don't want to support indies or have problems with attitudes etc. it's just that I bought a broken product. As I said on a previous post I cannot understand how this did it on Apple's side. It's not that is a hidden bug. It's just doesn't run on a majority of devices.
Judging by the fact that he fired the game up and ran around for a couple of seconds, it appears they are looking into the crash on startup that many are reporting. That doesn't leave me very hopeful for the game on iOS however since members here did not have that problem and still found the game buggy with broken menus, crashing and progress loss when talking to NPCs, etc. Those are much deeper and more complex issues than a game failing to load, and would take actual play testing to isolate and fix (not just running around in a circle for 10 seconds and saying "see it works"). Still keeping this on the watchlist. At least they are showing a willingness to do something.
Pretty much what I tought when he said that GM is probably the reason why it crashes. Meanwhile, CL runs flawlessly on most iOS/Android devices as well as on PC.
Hey...I'm pretty certain I posted a comment; a fair comment. I've been here since 2009 (earlier-I lost my original password). I've discovered hidden gems and promoted deserving games. This is absurd. I'm sure this comment will be removed-but come on TA.
More to the point......wtf? Are you serious? You developed a game for a platform that you knew nothing about? I work in Forestry and even I know pre-6S machines only had 1gb RAM. Surely a fundamental part of developing a game is understandanding the architecture and hardware it's running on? And surely, having failed at releasing this game back when the top end devices were only just getting 1gb, you would be aware of the limitations?! And lastly, just to say - many more complex and graphically intensive games run without any problem on 1gb Apple devices, so blaming the hardware is a bit of a poor excuse in afraid. I'd wanted to give you guys the benefit of the doubt and have tried to play devils advocate to be fair to you - but this has just proven me woefully wrong. Amateurish, careless and 'couldn't care less' about sums it up. You've had my money twice before, I'm only glad you haven't had it again this time!
No it isn't. The first game was pulled and had horrible support. So why would you want to pay more for a new version with a bad history? Especially when it's off to a horrible start.
This is that attitude I was talking about. He's blaming the phone's ram (even though he said it was working fine on an iPad with even less). Games with much more intensive graphics and much more complex systems have been released on older devices (including Hero Seige lol) but for some reason it's too much this time. It was wrong to release the game without testing and wrong to sell a product that is clearly not ready for it (especially for that price and especially after pulling the older version). Just because Game Maker has an "export to iPhone" option doesn't mean you should use it.
