Sold! Many have tried without success in the past to bring their attention to a specific title. Asynchronous multiplayer, however, does seem to usually catch their refined eyes, so perhaps there is hope for Hero Mages yet I think the submit tip link on the front page is still the best bet. Perhaps some dedicated Hero Mages fans in this thread could help facilitate the process by e-mailing in multiple tips.
Well, considering that each one costs 10$ to buy from pc I think that it's going to be 1.99$ each expansion/IAP.
Yeah I'm sure it's already been said somewhere that the pricing will be along the same lines as hero academy, so I'm guessing that means it'll be $1.99/£1.49 for a set of extra characters and there will be multiple sets to buy. Maybe there will be a buy all IAP like outwitters? Well either way I'm sure it will be worth it as like the above post said it costs much more for the same content but on pc.
Sorry for the belated response. Each expansion pack will cost $1.99 USD. I promise it's a great value. You will get hours upon hours of enjoyment for less than the cost of a Starbucks FYI: v1.8.0 is now available on web, Google Play, and Amazon. Still waiting for Apple to review, should be any day now
Of the mages, guardians and creatures listed on the game's website, how many are actually available now? Are there plans to make the rest available in the future?
The base game comes with Sorceress, Fighter Mage, Warrior, Paladin, Bard, and Rogue. There are two expansions available: Dark Avengers and Arcane Disciples ($1.99 per pack). Dark Avengers adds Summoner, Barbarian, Soul Reaver. Arcane Disciples adds Wizard, Psionist, Samurai. Finally, there is an exclusive minotaur character available via special promo code only. The expansions are currently available for purchase on Google Play and Amazon. Once Apple approves version 1.8.0 (still in review), they will also be available on iOS. Nook does not support IAP, but you can get the expansions using the other mobile stores or via the browser expansion. All content is tied to your account, not your device, so once you own the content you can use it on all of your devices after logging into multiplayer for the first time.

You can also buy Map Editor Pack for $1.99 which lets you create your own custom levels. The Minotaur is a special give-away for spreading the word about Hero Mages. Normally, I run promotions in conjunctions with a major website. I would love to do a Minotaur promotion with TouchArcade. If anyone here can get me in contact with TouchArcade staff, I'll gift you a Hero Mages review code which unlocks all of the In-App content plus the Minotaur.
The update is live for iPhone, but when I go to log in so I can buy expansions, it hangs at the "processing request" screen.
HA! The man with the unpronounceable last name is back. So exited about the update and the character packs! I'd love to start some asynch games now.
Try logging out of the Appstore completely, then reboot your device after installing the update, then try to access the Appstore again from within the game.
It's official, as many of you have already discovered, v1.8.0 including async multiplayer, in-app purchases, and so much more is live on the App Store! I've noticed that a few of you have experienced some issues logging in. If you haven't resolved the problem with the reboot already, can you take a screen shot of where it gets stuck and post? I had Android users report a similar problem but I haven't been able to replicate it. I *believe* that this connection issue may be the result of a login attempt during a lagged internet connection. The server socket might time out preventing the processing request message from clearing. Android users have had success completely uninstalling the app and then re-installing (not sure exactly why this works). A simpler idea might be to close the app out (double tap home button, then tap and hold the Hero Mages app to completely close it out via the red x), and then restart. I'll push a minor update in a few days that will add a cancel button the processing request prompt so you can clear it manually. Let me know if any of these solutions work. For those interested, you can challenge me to an async game! To do so, goto New Game -> Invite Friends. Then, add a new player and select "Add Friend". My playername is "Ross Przybylski". Once I'm added as a friend, go back and select my name in the drop down. FYI - Async chat is not yet available (per our earlier discussion, it sounded like players wanted the async gameplay update sooner than later). I will incorporate this in a future update. For now, at least we can play! Let me know what you think!
Stuck on 'Processing' too unfortunately.... I can log in fine from the website. I can see, as soon as I log in, the screen in background with the red badges (like friends requests or game list)...but it's stuck on processing. No network problems. If it may be of help...I see a red '1' on the Chat lobby (both on iPhone and website) but I do not have a clue of what it means...I enter and there is nobody. Sigh...I was all hyped up!!!! Hope it get sorted out soon!
This is definitely an odd bug. I've tested the app several times on multiple devices and have not been able to reproduce this bug once. My only thoughts are to add a manual override to the processing request prompts so that users have a way to get out of them. Not sure why this prompt isn't clearing. Have you tried the solution ideas mentioned above? Did completely uninstalling/reinstalling help? Many users have reported success with this temp solution.
Reinstalling right now and I'll let you know...maybe it's just that...sometimes it happens in the AppStore (not sure about Android tough). I do not thing it's network problems...tried on 2 different networks, one it's a high level network, same result. BRB.
IT'S WORKING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! HELL YEAH!!!! I just deleted the app and reinstalled, not even rebooted. Working like a charm now! BRB...have...some playin..ahem....some work to do More impressions later.
