However, throwing in a turn here or there is perfect. RossD20Studios Well-Known Member Apr 12, 2012 96 0 0 Founder and Game Developer of D20Studios, LLC Salt Lake City, UT http://d20studios.com #19 RossD20Studios, Apr 12, 2012 Introducing Ross Przybylski, Hero Mages Creator Hi everyone! This is Ross Przybylski, Manager of D20Studios, LLC and creator of Hero Mages. Vovin sent me an email this morning to join your discussion, and I couldn't be more excited for the invite. I mean...wow....the game has barely been live in the App Store for a few hours and already there is a dedicated forum discussion happening on Touch Arcade. What an awesome community you have here- thank you for inviting me! So, I'd like to take a moment to answer all your burning questions about Hero Mages for iOS: 1) No, the game is not asynchronous - it is real-time. The game was originally designed as a physical board game and first launched publicly as a browser-based game in July 2009. So much of the game's entertainment value comes from the conversation and experiences you have interacting with other players during the game: the very same kind of humor you find sitting down with a group of friends for a D&D session. The aim was to make a simpler game that captures the elements we love in more complex strategy/RPG games so that you can have a 10-15 minute session during a lunch break or enjoy a 2v2 or larger game in the evening in about 30-45 minutes. 2) I really appreciate the feedback and being made aware of the demand for asynchronous game play. This is among my future development goals - though it will most likely take fruition in the form of a new game title with mechanics appropriately geared for make-a-move-and-go style async gameplay. 3) For those missing the async feature because you don't have time for a dedicated session, please note that the game DOES feature Quick and Custom battles against the AI, and, the game will allow you to minimize/or quit out the app entirely and return to your last game in progress exactly where you left off. So, if you only have a few minutes to play at a time, you can still enjoy the game. 4) Hero Mages was built with the intent to expand in a diverse and immersive way akin to how games like Magic the Gathering grow with each expansion. There are actually two character expansions currently released for the browser version. I want to be upfront in saying that these expansions are not currently included in the $2.99 iOS app. However, existing players who have previously purchased content will have access to their expansions as they are tied to your multiplayer account, not your device. 5) If you'd like to learn more about the expandable content offered and see a road map of what's being planned next for Hero Mages, please see my detailed notes here: http://www.heromages.com/gameInfo/expandableContent.html 6) If you're interested in my plans for future release titles (single player campaigns, cooperative dungeon crawls, async play), check out my recent post here: http://heromages.com/forums/index.php?topic=428.msg2224#msg2224 7) Any further questions, just ask! I'm glad to be here and happy to discuss anything you'd like to talk about. Once again, thank you Vovin for inviting me! I was really excited to get your email this morning and see this wonderful discussion going!
