Checked AppUnwrapper's guide but didn't find this (and apologies for asking a much-repeated question): where are 8th Tier Emblems found? Thanks in advance for any info or advice.
Is gravity sword actually any good? Can you actually choose your targets somehow in this game? Cause gravity sword seems pretty useless when the closest monster is the only one i can target..
I just realized I made it all the way to the last dragon in the Star room without ever having gotten Trista's Purification s-skill. I'm torn between feeling oddly proud of overcoming having made the game far more difficult than it needed to be, and feeling like a total idiot for making the game a LOT harder than it needed to be.
That does seem pretty painful. Although, if you went without the basic purify skill, you might be godlike.
I have all the emblem locations listed except for tier 8 (almost there!): http://www.appunwrapper.com/2015/01/27/hero-emblems-emblem-locations-guide/
No kidding - both my wife and I are completely addicted. I hope the developer adds some kind of arena/endless/ mode (or add-on content, or a sequel...), I could see myself playing this for a long time to come.
So, quick question. I beat the final boss with what felt like a fair amount of luck in terms of getting a number of s-skill gems, but then the post-credits crash happened. I haven't booted the game up since then, but I'm wondering if that means I'll have to face the final boss again before doing any of the new content (when it gets released, of course). Because that battle was TOUGH. Thanks!
Yeah, that's a known bug. The developer said it's being fixed in an update, but I think we'll have to replay it when it's patched.
Yikes! Oh well, it is what it is. And at least I know it's possible to beat, which will help get rid of frustration if it takes me a bunch more tries to repeat success. I'm really looking forward to seeing what the differences are in the upcoming content based on the various endings, though. That could be really cool to see!
Omg this time I have all four tier 6 emblems, but Tower of Deity is wiping the floor with me. I don't remember having this much trouble with it the first time around.
Ok, what is the trick to this squid in the Capoa sea? He's making me mad! I've tried lightning, ice, fire, and all I get are 0 0 0 0 0. The fight lasts as long as 30 minutes before I just give up and back out because I'm bored silly and he's still at 95% health. What am I missing here? I have Tier 4 emblems on everyone except pally and healer, who have their T5 emblems. What's the gimmick that I'm missing for this annoying fight?
Nevermind. Just after I posted my request for help, I finally beat the Cave of Conch. I had been trying for nearly 4 days to beat it so I posted here for tips. Looks like I finally got some luck.
Ha oh boy. I kept taking A in Tower of Deity, so the battle lasted an entire hour. Got all the skills from the one run, though.
I wound up throwing caution to the wind and using Trista's emblem upgrade skill instead of purification, and hoping that massive damage output would carry me rather than playing too defensively. Took me about seven tries before I did it that way, but that was what finally worked.
I still haven't used Upgrade yet, because the idea of having no way to purify scares me. Btw, since a lot of people have been asking, I finally got a video of the Kraken battle: Sadly, stealing from him wasn't worth it.
Yeah, it's definitely high risk-high reward. I wouldn't recommend using it against enemies who chuck tons of debuffs at you, but in certain situations having obscene damage output is quite useful, not to mention throwing down a lot of damage on bosses that can only be damaged by special tile attacks since you don't need to spend time setting up a ton of 4+ matches. But in the endgame, Purification is basically mandatory.
Where/when is the Secret Cabin found? I'm on an iPhone right now and can't check the guide. Thanks in advance for any info or advice. PS When I briefly tried Gravity Sword, I was unimpressed.
Surprisingly well-designed title I've drunk a little too deeply from the match-3 genre, and I'd come to the conclusion that the only interesting ones were in the Puzzle Quest vein - taking turns with the opponent on the board, mana denial, well-timed and hard-acquired spell combos. Hero Emblems proved me wrong. The difficulty in this game is perfect; it's the Dark Souls of an otherwise casual genre, and it really presses you to master board manipulation. It kept up its edge right until the very end, at which point I had four S.Skill emblems in reserve on the final boss. The debuff/purify and dual-mode-Alston mechanics were really well put together. The risk/reward of heist, treasure chests, and gnome drops were highly satisfying, and the skill trade-offs never degenerated. Lack of historical saves and the complete absence of reward on failure created a wonderful tension. I'm really impressed.
