This may have been said: Someone who is far in this great game ought to make a map with overlaid information that tells you which levels/emblems are needed to defeat certain final bosses. It may help the people getting wiped to progress.
I didn't have much of a problem with the time I invested in the game -- before I knew that you can make mistakes that cause you to miss out on useful (and possibly necessary) skills/emblems. Battleheart Legacy is a game that comes to mind where it's easy to miss out on skills because you don't know what decision to make. But that's also a much shorter game that asks for much less time to be invested. I had no problem restarting if I missed something I wanted. But this...this is insane. I can't throw out 35+ hours I spent on it and start over because I missed something. That's just absurd.
I tried grinding a bunch in the Tower of Deity to see if maybe the emblem stays behind as a random heist reward for one of the mobs... no dice
Weren't they at the Conch and Poseidon islands? I searched there, but just saw regular mobs. I'm currently stuck in the Palace of Darkness because my heroes get slaughtered by basic enemies and I can't find any new emblems anywhere. Have a feeling I was supposed to steal those.
I mustve missed it but where do you get the second or third S-skill for Trista? I've just unlocked the ship to sail where I want. Also where's the best place to go now that I can go to multiple continents and the secret cabin. Thanks P.S. AppUnwrapper what page was that link to your guide on? there's so many pages now hahaha
Tier 9 can be purchased for 100,000 each. On the last(?) island go north, then go as far to the right as you can. At the dead end, select the little hut. Be sure to check the spells too as there is a better version of the healer's purify spell. I'm grinding gold for my 4th badge now. Still worried about the 3 doors - hopefully they can be done with separate runs... A tip for stealing from bosses: try to leave 2 5-tiles next to each other until the boss. Then combine them during the fight - you can get a shield bubble, a full decurse, a big damage spell, and a steal in a single move. While it might seem like a tall order, I've been managing to have a pair ready for the last stage of the dungeon I'm grinding in almost every time. The hard part when facing new levels is holding onto them that long.
This is wonderful news...except I can't find what you're referring to. I just tried walking all over that continent and can't find any new shop. As for the three doors, I completed the first and now it glows, so yes, you should be able to do them each separately. Edit: Doh! Found it. There's nothing indicating it's a shop, but it is! Thank you!!!! Seems that buying from the other shop was a waste? Edit 2: And there's a Strong Purification skill there! I could kiss you! Ok, back to loving the game. Adding this stuff to my guide. I recommend reading through everything on the main guide page, as I've put things I wish I knew before it was too late.
I believe i got the tier 6 emblems for both paladin and healer from the chests in the two islands (where you get the bell and the shell); after beating the boss i replayed it to get the chest and got both emblems there. Still missing the other two emblems but maybe u can get them from the next step..
I agree. I haven't had this much fun with a game in years. It's got an old school Final Fantasy vibe to it. I've already got over 12 hours in and it feels like a giveaway for only $2.99. Yes, there are some spikes of difficulty but I'm enjoying the "grinding" and the strategy. Anyone on the fence please buy this game now and support the developer! Put your money where your mouth is, premium game at a bargain price... Not saying the game is perfect but hopefully it will get tweaked in the near future. It's a good sign the developer has already pushed out one update.
I managed to get through the first boss by using three Omnipotent Crosses when I couldn't easily get rid of the thunder stones. But I couldn't even get *to* the boss in the second area. Now to try again with some upgrades.
While I don't have a ton of experience with match 3 RPGs I have to say this game is outstanding. Im so glad TA choose it as their Game of the Week as that caught my attention and had me try it. It really is a bargain for $3. The game play is thoughtful and engaging. Do yourself a favor and give it a try.
I always try to set up the board like this before I enter a boss fight: Matching two of these Super Skill symbols lets all characters launch enhanced versions of their Special Skills together. It's important to set up the board like this before the boss fight begins. Try to save as many Super Skill symbols for the boss as possible. The tactics I normally always use are: - checking the board if there's an opportunity to get a 5-line or moving pieces to create a situation for a possible 5-in-line match; -always trying to match symbols in the lower three lines, to have a chance for additional matches when the board refills. Try to figure out which of the combo would lead to more additional combos when the stones fall into their new positions; - if there's nothing in line 5, 6 and 7, I check the three middle lines 3, 4 and 5, and only if there's nothing, then I do matches in line 1, 2 and 3; - I always prefer matching MORE than three symbols, even if I don't really need these combos right now. The more stones you erase, the more will refill and the more likely are additional combos.
Omg the second room is still giving me a hard time. I may need to grind a bit to get the other two emblems. There is a skill to be looted in there, though. Those of you around the same area as me -- have you noticed that hearts seem to be less frequent than the other emblems? Not sure if it's by design or just my luck.
One thing that really needs to be addressed is for the game NOT to allow to buy emblems you've already purchased. I haven't done it but you really have to check before you buy. And maybe add something where you can see how powerful the enemies are before you enter a location.
The buying of the emblems is addressed by them not getting "excited" meaning you already have it. About the monsters power I would say that's kind of the fun of it. The oh shit I'm not supposed to be here yet aspect lol. I did that on the first continent. I saw the South graveyard at the bottom and was like oh hey looks cool. Went there a lot too early and got party wiped on first mob. I laughed out loud and said "well ok you win this one but I'll be back." I think that was one of those moments where I fell in love with this game.
If the character animates when you select an item then you don't already own it. If you get no reaction then you own the item.
Thanks C.Hannum. This sums up perfectly how I feel about this game. Beautiful to look at and quite a bit of strategy involved for a match 3 game. I really want to like it but I am 3 hours in and feel like I have made no progress at all. Just seems to be endless grinding to try and earn enough to buy emblems. The amount of time I have available for gaming is very limited so I hate having to waste time doing the same thing over and over again. In my humble opinion Puzzle Quest is a far superior game.
