Amazing game! So far no problems with it on my iPhone 6. I am a big fan of the match 3 and RPG elements. I'm so glad it has no iap as the game is definitely I high level of quality. The quirky translation diesnt ruin the game at all. Hoping the game lasts as long as others have been talking since this is the kind of game you want to savor!
Imo I'd say so much more but in different ways. But PQ feels completely different. This feels closer to a JRPG more than anything.
Yeah, very different game from PQ. If you are looking fo a PQ game, Gems of War is awesome. Back to this, I'd really love some more noob/starter tips on what to buy or skip, when to go after the next quest, etc. I've only got one emblem upgrade (paladin) so far, but close to being able to buy another.
You should be able to replay every dungeon, but they're (usually) shorter and there's no boss. You can win the treasure if you missed it the first time, though.
Woah? What kind of sorcery is this? How am i supposed to buy my way through to the cow level with my wallet? This is preposterous!
Puzzle Quest is a match-3 game with deep RPG elements. Hero Emblems is different in a way that it does feel more like a JRPG with a match-3 combat system. Im 15 hours in, and can confidently say this belong up there with PQ1 on top of the best puzzle-rpg hybrids.
I ended up buying everything in the store. The game isn't forgiving but isn't impossible. So in that respect i grinned and got all the items that were available. My preference for item buying is Paladin, healer, swordsman, mage. Healer seems not so great at first but once you're low on health you'll realize that you need a lot more healing power. Her standard special abilities are also the most useful of all the characters. The two damage dealers are pretty much the same except the mage is slightly weaker. I'm not actually sure what the difference in the two is since their early specials are all area attacks.
Mage's muti-hits can trample through to the next enemy of the first target died. Swordy doesnt, he likes overkilling targets. It's awesome coz you can see this in their personality too. Swordy's strong but brash, while the mage is more calculating and has a mysterious past. The cleric's got the funny sidekick personality, and the shieldy is the serious, strong, silent tank.
Good enough (my lack of love for JRPGs notwithstanding). I'll jump. Thanks! (Though I'd classify PQ1 as a western RPG that uses puzzle mechanics for combat and other challenge- and skill-based elements.) Gems of War really has very little in common with PQ1 (in as far as any RPG/match 3 hybrids can be said to be different ), despite origins and their shared heritage. Both are some of the best games with match 3 elements for any platform (and I've almost played as much GoW as PQ1 by now), but GoW is not the spiritual successor to PQ1, gameplay- and mechanics-wise.
Like some others here already mentioned they are very different games. But no this isn't even close to Puzzle Quest in variety and depth but then again few match-3 games are.
I never said I expected or wanted them to be similar in form, content or mechanics And yeah, I have never come across a match 3/RPG hybrid even remotely close to PQ1 in the aspects I sought to compare. That said, Hero Emblems seems splendid, regardless.
I have to say the healer is my favorite persoanlity wise. Sometimes i wonder how she got her job lol. And that's interesting! Thanks for the tip. I somewhat noticed it but i couldn't figure out the cause. Now i know the sword is basically an overkill.
From my own experience this game is easily on par with PQ in terms of variety, depth and sheer scale.
Well I finally managed to buy this and damn is it nice. It looks like it's had some serious time put into it. Graphics are brilliant looks like I could be playing this one for a while.
Been a while since I played a match game but bought primarily due to all the positive reception. Putting this on the backlog along with ocean horn.
Lawliet, So my party is level 8 and I beat the first boss. I have two of the 300 coin emblems and sitting on 1k gold. Is it better to buy the other two, or start saving for a more expensive one?
