Yeah, if you guys do become active in the League your going to have to be *very* clear in your looking for matches posts, because you definitely play much slower than League average. That said, we have 407 members, about half active, so there are sure to be plenty of folks that dont mind. Even a lot of the active folks dont care since they play 10 at once.
Well, of course that's a big part of why I'm not in the league. Also, I'm still hoping that the devs will come up with better player matching tools (people who want fast games, people who want slow games, experienced players, inexperienced players, etc.). I'm happy with the speed of play, and even happier that no one is complaining that I'm playing too slowly.
I'm getting less happy with the speed of play. impatiently awaiting LEiss: last move 3 days ago impatiently awaiting LEiss: last move 3 days ago impatiently awaiting Narziss: last move 4 days ago impatiently awaiting Narziss: last move 5 days ago
so you won? waiting on all games for several days.. in 2-4 days thoose games will auto forfeit anyway. thats an awesome playstyle. i'm not surprised to be honest.
I'm signing out. Don't have quite the time necessary to play. Sorry for the inconvenience and thank you for your patience. Good luck to you both!
Arranged games don't forfeit for 14 days, so that's not really an issue. It just depends on whether people want to play, or not. It's always hard to keep people engaged in organized play over a long period of time, so I'm not too surprised if people drop out, either. I also think that Robot has created a really good game, but they have mostly failed in the metagame of finding ways to keep people engaged, so that is part of the problem. But it's not easy so I won't criticize them too much.
LEiss did, in fact, resign both games with me. He was doing pretty well in both games, probably slightly better than me, although we'd only played a few turns.
Oh, wow, you resigned lEiss? And I was completely sweating the fact that both of our games are on the single crystal map....
Alright, DaviddesJ, it is just you and I. Sorry, I was off visiting a university for a lecture this past week, but now I am available to move forward in our game.
Haha, yeah they were both single crystal map, but I had in fact a hard way to go. In one game I had 3 shields, one sword and a pot... and David, we were pretty much balanced I'm sorry about the resigning. I felt very stressed with university and also a slight decrease in interest as I didn't have played in a month or so. Soo good luck guys and hope you have great games
Well, at least the end is in sight now! I get a free HA shirt when you guys finish. Not that I'm rushing you guys or anything. I mean, just as long as I get my shirt before it gets warm enough to wear it
We're making slow progress, but at least it's progress. DaviddesJ v. Narziss: round 12 Narziss v. DaviddesJ: round 11
Up to round 16 and round 15. Both games seem close and hard fought, to me. The upgraded Dark Elves (and downgraded Knights) certainly make Council v. Dark Elves much tougher. I wish there were a replay feature. Maybe I will post some screenshots so people can see how the games are going (I wish I had thought to do this from the beginning).
I'd go to princeton, but I can never figure out anything to do there other than have lunch or dinner. My grass needs to be mowed because it has grown like 6 inches from turn 12 to 16, but its all good
There is a chance the League might get to 5,000 games played before they finish. But, I'm just gently needling David for amusement purposes, its totally fine. The two of them are playing at a pace they agree on, who is anyone else to complain? If he wants to take frequent breaks to oggle the Princeton co-eds now that the weather is warm, who can blame him?
I wish it were a bit faster, but I can't claim I haven't taken some significant part (although certainly less than half) of the time. I do think there's a pretty strong correlation between playing slower and playing better. Also I think it's natural (at least for me) that I slow down against better players, in my early games I would find a good move and just make it, it's harder to decide what to do when your opponent doesn't leave you any good moves.
