I figured that was what would end up happening but wanted no doubt as to whether or not a rule was followed or broken
I wonder if elimination is going to be done something like, best 2 out of 3, or best 3 out of 5, where you play those 3 or 5 matches simultaneously against one player.
There will be approximately 16 players in round 2. If its 16 exactly, we'll do 4 round-robin groups of 4 players, where you play 2 games against each of the 3 other people in your group, top finisher on points only advances to the "final four". After that, I'm not too sure, maybe 1-1 matches for the semis or maybe just another round robin with all of the final four (with a one game tiebreaker if needed). That is my current thought, but input is welcome. Round-robins are good because they reduce the needed number of rounds and eliminate the luck of single elimination, but maybe 1 on 1 is better for the semis. I hope to post prize info soon. The developer suggested 3 items for first (2 kinds of shirt + hat), 1 for second, nothing for third. I proposed winner choses 2 of the 3, so we have an extra item we can award to third place.
First post updated with prize information and misc. updates. Prize Information: Per developer, first place receives choice of two of Robot Entertainment Shirt, Hero Academy Shirt or Robot Entertainment Hat. Second place receives a Hero Academy Shirt, and third place receives whatever item first place didnt select. Second and third place can probably request to switch items. I am not affilliated with the developer and do not guaranty that they will actually provide these prizes.
Results Sheet Hey, I created this following results sheet as a shared document everyone can view. Art: if you pm me your google account's email address I can add you as an editor for the document. White cells represent the incomplete matches The column next to the group name represents the number of matches left to complete.
That is so beautiful I could cry, except, you know, I'm too tough. I'll pm you now. You have my vote for TD for next tourney
Sorry folks I need to drop out - I have just been unexpectedly sent overseas for the next 3 weeks for work, and can't afford the data roaming costs for any gaming on my phone
Just saw a news item pop up: it says that the servers will be down tomorrow for up to three hours, from 7am onward. Will this affect the tournament? In other words, will the up-to 3-hour maintenance scheduled tomorrow at 7am force in-progress match data to be lost?
Not quite my new friend, not quite. You forgot something important . . . to indicate that you advance to round 2! Congrats! Drvumad advances as well (I had to think harder about that one since its possible he ties for second at 3-1, but, if so, he would win the tie breaker.)
He can't tie for second at 3-1, because I am the only one who can be 4-0 (or 3.5-0.5), and if I score at least 1.5 in my two remaining games then the other players score 2.5 at best. What we could have is the three-way tie at 3-1 that I mentioned earlier, which each of the three players losing to one of the others and beating one of the others. If you're going to advance all three players in that case, then yes, Drvumad is in.
Correct. That is the posted rule, and why he advances. We now have 4/16 slots decided. Its not entirely "fair" that some may go 3-1 and advance while others will not, but that is the breaks.
Well I am glad to hear that, I sent DaviddesJ a message regarding the possibility of a three way tie if he loses one, and the chance of a tie breaker. Don't fail me DaviddesJ, sweep the group!
We'll see. I played our game very quickly once I killed your Wraith. (I could afford to make a mistake or two at that point.) The other two games are going more slowly, it's too early to tell who's winning.
I'm out but have to say it was great. Got to play against some really good players, played some good games but the best thing was I didn't have to worry about dead games. Haven't finished a game outside of the tournament in a while. People play a few rounds then never return.
