Since we are moving slow, lets use the time to discuss the final four. Drive, why dont you opine since your in? Options are a 4 person round robin with anywhere from 1-3 games with each person, or two semi-final 1 on 1's. The 1 on 1's would probably be 3 or 5 games, with one person getting and extra "go first" based on a coin flip equivalent. I lean towards semi-final 1 on 1 match-ups of 3 or 5 games, will make for a more dramatic final 1 on 1 battle. But the extra "go first" is a problem.
While I totally agree that a bracket style final 4 would make for a dramatic finish we did get all this way with round robin pairings and should probably finish it off that way to be fair. But I am up for whichever. If I had my choice I would go with a bracket style final 4 and end up with a finals best of 3 1v1 ftw! I feel like this would add significance and pressure to the last few matches where as with round robin pairings I actually feel less. But that's my opinion.
I dont see why we need to stick to round robin format at this point. But we can table the issue until we have a few more folks that are in who can vote. The only problem is that someone gets hosed with going second twice. Maybe we can create our own fix, and let the second player go first, trade 1 or 2 tiles. You know, something minor, that should eat into the first player advantage somewhat but clearly not go so far that the second player would be preferable.
He is quite good, and beat me twice as well. I think all he has to do is split the other 2 games and he advances.
Hi, I don't know if there was plans for a second tournament but I missed the chance to be in this one so I posted a thread about a February tournament. Sign up if you missed this one, or if you just want more competitive matches

I think I have been outmatched. Lost one to DaviddesJ and on my way to a second loss.
Lelezi is 0-6 its a sad day for the underwhelmed Dark Elves! Its ok, the nerfs are coming to the council as we speak!
We are partnering with robotentertainmentfans.com (REF) regarding the upcoming Hero Academy League. The guys at REF took it upon themselves to open sign-ups even though their site is not yet ready. No biggy, but space is limited (because we dont have everything automated and will need to do manual updates) and I dont want TA'ers to be left out. So go on over to REF, register for the site, and post in the thread regarding the league that you would like to play. We may open at freeforums.org on an interim basis if the guys at REF are going to need a while to build the site for us, but for now, register at REF and post in that thread to sign-up.

If not though, I had a great time with this tournament and thanks ArtNJ for all your work setting it up.
Thanks Juice. I know how tough you are and I think you just had 2 off games against another ace. The league is ready and open. If you got to Robotentertainmentfans.com, click on the hero academy picture on the left, select league, there is a request membership feature.
As Juuicetin predicted, I won both games against him. (I had "mate in one" when he posted.) Neither I nor Krypton have been playing fast in our two games, I have been insanely busy, but I will pick up the pace in those soon. Looks like I just need to win one or the other to take the title.

This is Krypton here. I won 2-0 against lelezi and lost 0-2 against Juuicetin. Still awaiting my games with DaviddesJ. Both of us are pretty busy but hopefully we'll sort it out over the weekend. A big thank you to Juuicetin and lelezi for the good games, and thanks ArtNJ for organizing this
