I think you're trying to hit too many reds with your first potion. To me, it looks like you shouldn't bother with the rat until the 2nd red. Check the image for where I would put the first light. After the bats get hit, they'll fly somewhere else and you can probably line up for green, then the final red. While I'm not saying it's impossible to have an unsolvable puzzle, I would say it's pretty unlikely. The problem is usually with putting the torch in just the right place, where a few pixels in any direction won't work; or from approaching the puzzle from the wrong direction, thinking it's a placement issue, and not seeing an alternate solution. During development, I was worried about generating unsolvable puzzles, so as part of our testing, we wrote an automated puzzle solver and fed it thousands of randomly-generated levels. The puzzles are much more random than this. The only thing that stays the same is the major obstruction elements (the ones visible from the map). All the small obstructions, enemy types, enemy locations, and enemy colors are completely different on every playthrough.
sometimes you do have to get it just right , hmm sometimes i have leftover potions (not counting boss levels)
lol thanks - guess i won't spontaneously age into a pile of bones (reference to your pic). but, jokes aside, how tough are the later puzzles?
I LOLed when i killed a human by mistake and it said: "sir, you've killed a human" "a careless mistake. let's do that again"
Great game and I can fully recommed it. I like the game mechanics and have really enjoyed the banter between Hellsing and Rafferton. I finished it in 1:22h in medium and think it might be a bit too easy but like the auto generated levels so will play again in hard this time. I hope to see more adventures and more change in the backgrounds aside from just the color changes right now. A level editor would also be great. Still, a fantastic game and a must buy for veryone whi likes puzzle games.
Dracula: It seems you have bested my Acolyte. He was a slow learner. Dr.Helsing: His learning will be much slower now that he's dead. Raffton: Nice one sir. Thats my favorite LMAO!
Game Impressions Just love this game, so much fun, so innovative. Some levels appear to be very difficult and some easy I think it is all in how your brain initially perceives the board (start thinking the wrong way about a level and it can be very difficult to get out of the rut) a mark of a great puzzler in my opinion. My one big gripe is the actual level designs. I love the stylized look of the game, but it would really be nice if, for instance, the forest level had more stylized trees (as apposed to vaguely tree-like blocks) where the beautiful shadow and light play could cast more biomorphic shapes or craggy rocks, gargoyle reliefs, that sort of thing.
Dracula(third boss right?) is the last level right?? What happens after that?? i am finding it quite difficult to beat him...How to do it ??
This game is fantastic, and hilarious. My favorite quote was: "Oh look, it's the classic vampire bat." "Skree, skree!" "Your presence here surprises no one."
