Wow, just wow. It's one of the best puzzlers out there on the iPhone and I'm quite fond of the genre. Gonna buy it for my brother as well. He's not into gaming, but hey, it's Hellboy meets Torch...light (?). Right? Congrats, devs.
I finished the regular game. Good stuff. The survival mode is surprisingly fun, too. Since the devs are reading this thread, a couple of quick comments: 1 :: It's easy to accidently hit one of the tonics when you're trying to position the torch near the centre bottom of the screen. 2 :: Is there not a way to pause survival mode apart from hitting the menu button? 3 :: In survival mode, the little illustrated men appearing in the lower left with their comments can block your sight. They add some charm, definitely, but maybe they could be for the regular mode only? I'm really enjoying the unique gameplay. Thanks for making it!
Nice game. It has been crashing on me quite a bit, though. Has anyone else had problems? One suggestion I'd make: maybe it could tell you when you're beaten. it's pretty obvious when you don't have any more of the potion you need, but I think there are also cases where creatures are in a certain configuration and it's impossible to hit them. I was thinking it might as well just tell you you're done. Just a thought.
Im enjoying the game but please add some form of profile switching to the game. My wife and I would both like to play but because we're not always at the same place at the same time while playing, it proves to be a bit annoying to not be able to pick up where each of us left off...
Cool puzzle game Cool puzzle game - I grabbed it at .99 cents I only played a couple of levels - quite fun. Now to squeeze this in while playing Psychoban, Trainyard, Despicable Me, and the list goes on and on !
You really have to wonder what the devs were thinking releasing this without retina display support. The blurry graphics and horribly pixelly lighting effects make this far less polished than it could be. Come on devs, retina support please!
I'm willing to bet this game wasn't whipped out in the couple of weeks since the iPhone 4 was released. I'm sure if the game sells decently we will see retina and iPad resolution support but they have to start somewhere and I'm much happier that they released their game as is now so that I can play it while they work on incorporating these other resolutions in the future.
Guys , This Game is a MUST HAVE !!! I love it !! i'll play it later in the plane , but ... i would like to enjoy it before too !! Guys, trust me , buy quick !! And it's just 0,99 $ .. what are you waiting for ...?
The iPhone 4 has been out only a couple weeks for crying out loud! They will come I am sure. Patience is a virtue!
Game Impressions I just had to chime in with some more praise for this game. The presentation, music, graphics and gameplay are all top notch. As others have said, it starts off quite easy and has a rather mild learning curve, but stick with it and you'll find the difficulty; plus, you can always change the difficulty in the options. Helsing's Fire also has a great survival mode where the pressure of a ticking clock is added. I feel as though there's a lot of replay value here, but since I've only had it a short while, that remains to be seen. For a buck, this one's a no brainer. Get it.
Yep, even more praise for this game. It's fan-****ing-tastic and a complete steal at $0.99. You'd be crazy not to get it.
