Completely off topic but where the heck did you come across this photo? That's my friend Bird (the mustache hand) and her dog Eloise. How absurdly random. Back on topic...I absolutely love this game. Great presentation, witty, unique, a great game to boot up while waiting in line and it has plenty of replay value. I'll be following these devs, most definitely.
Just wanted to chime in and say congrats to the devs for this masterpiece! Great game, stunning visuals, endless replay value and a perfect sense of humour! Beat it on medium yesterday and will start playing on hard during work today! Can't put this game down - and love to see a sequel or some sort of DLC for another 30-90 levels or so. Maybe this shouldn't be too hard (I'm not a very decent programmer myself), as the levels are randomly generated and the 'difficulty' depends on the number of obstacles, enemies and layers of colour around named foes. Maybe the devs could throw in a few cool looking environments (ancient Egypt, a haunted castle, a church, a tom etc.) within the next few months - I think, they will have many happily paying customers around - waiting for new puzzles to solve So pleeeaaaase give us more stuff - I'll save some bucks for DLC for sure!
Ok, 3 things: 1 The dog is a true gentleman. 2 Helsing's Fire is doing way better than I could have possibly imagined (seriously, #10 in paid apps, wtf?), and I want to thank everyone here for their support and enthusiasm. I've posted about the game only on TouchArcade and I feel like a good chunk of its success can be credited this great community. Thanks everybody. 3 Seriously, dog is awesome.
Dog is a cool customer. Also, TA is great when you get a front-page article, but you also managed to score a Gizmodo article (along with review I'm sure on a number of other review sites), so I'm sure that's helped too. The game deserves it though. You've managed to create something truly unique, entertaining, challenging and polished, on several levels, and that's no mean feat, so congratulations on both that and your success.
Is there an iPad/universal version on the works? Cause i know it'll be out the moment i purchase this iphone version.
I haven't started any work on an iPad version, although it would make sense. I think it will be a while before something like that gets released.
Small world. I think I just googled "mustache dog" and it was in the first couple of pages. I'm pretty sure I've also seen it blogged (and subsequently re-blogged about a hundred times) on Tumblr. If you search it on TinEye there are quite a few results, so it's been getting around.
Dracula was kind of easy to beat......so why do some people think he's hard? Anyway this game is frikkin awesome!
Actually, if the dog's name is Eloise, then she is a lady, not a gentleman! I have friends with 2 of these little guys, and they are neat little dogs tho. As for this game, I bought it the minute I saw it was available, and I'm loving it! I am up to the Acolyte and he's giving me a hard time...I picked up some tips reading here so am off to try him again! Wish me luck!
Will there be an update soon that fixes the FPS problem? I'm on a 2nd gen touch running os4, and I can tell its running slow at some points. I've also had the game flat out freeze my device 3 times now. I'd love to be able to watch the completion animation with the hand slaps and such running smoothly, they're a neat thing to watch.
Haven't read all 20 pages of this thread, but I was wondering if retina display support is planned? I'd like to hold off playing the game till then. Thanks.
It looks great on the Retina display. Seriously, its $0.99. Just buy it. I promise you won't be disappointed =]
No, ThankYOU for this amazing game! #39 in Australia. I guess my countrymen just haven't caught on yet, even though I wrote a very nice review telling them how great this game is (and yes, that dog is awesome)
Game Impressions This game is awesome! The vampire slayerz have a very funny sense of humor cant go wrong with this game for a doller graphic and play style really go well with eachother!
This game is a blast to play! For $0.99, you get an addictive puzzle game with a genre-defining shadow and light mechanic that is refreshing and fun to play. Highly recommended!
