ASUS is good, I use one for gaming. You could also spend $100 more dollars to get a MacBook.

Alien wares are awesome but they have to be used as desktop computers. They're absolute behemoths.
I'd recommend a MacBook pro. You ca also go to various laptop sites and fill I these specs and find the closest match

I've had a toshiba satellite for almost three years now with no problems at all. I don't think I;d ever change brands. You can get one in that price range, maybe a bit less if you go to the toshiba website.

do you want gaming? If then get AleinWare Windows 7 64

If you just want to do iTunes and edit video, or view websites or anything else other than gaming, get a Mac.

quick question for you guys as I am not that knowledgable on graphics cards....I recently got a Mac Pro and built it based on gaming and video conversion needs, theres 4 nvidia geforce graphics cards in it....can the graphics cards in the mac pro already, be switched out for lets say the
    PNY XLR8 GeForce GTX 480 1.5GB GDDR5 700MHz 384-bit PCI-E 2.0 Video Card - VCGGTX480XPB ? cause i was thinking about getting 2 of these graphics cards....

No, I don't think the motherboard inside the Mac Pro supports that, but I'm not sure.

    @ Topic starter,

    Few options:

    Asus.
    MSI.
Alienware, but Alienware +15" costs more than 900 dollars. You could go for the m11x, you have an option to put an i5 or i7(Also more than $900) in it, I have one myself with the older CPU (SU7300) and it's pretty sweet, you'll get used to the screen.

E: You need a DVD burner, forget m11x.
Ok, you want high performance. I'd say: Save some more money, get a laptop with an i7 .

What I would do is: Save for an Asus G51, several options:

you can go for an awesome 3D experience: Asus G51j 3D(4GB RAM, i7 720QM, GTX 260m) or G51jx 3D(8GB RAM i7 720QM, GTS 360m). Cards are both fast, but the jx has more RAM (4GB is more than enough though).

You can also get this without 3D for a lower price (but 3D is awesome.) about 100-200 dollars less.

    Just do some research!
