      Ok i have an ipod 1st gen and when i tried to update to 3.0 after buying it it wouldnt let me it kept trying to make me go to 3.1.1 or what ever i just want to go to 3.0 please help i want alive for ever. SHIT I POSTED IN WRONG AREA!

      Well seeing that there is a newer update Apple, as it seems, will have you update to the newest one even if you are just now buying 3.0

      Yeah you can, just go buy it (only costs 5 bucks). It won't be that bad

      But i mean when i try to put it on my ipod it says like (error 5004) i think i need help fixing that. :(

      If your iPod (or dock) is plugged into a USB hub, unplug it and plug it into a direct USB port on the computer. Hubs introduce noise in the data transmissions that can cause hard failure when updating your firmware.

      I forgot that today. I'm currently doing a restore because of it. Grrrr...

      Umm...only 2nd Gen iPod Touches can upgrade to os 3.0...not 1st Gen...
