Okay, so I'm still on the lookout.

Not complicated. Not boring. Doesn't require constant focus.

Perfect examples, again, Yahtzee, Peggle, Carcassonne, Puzzle Quest. So far those are the only ones she's come back to.

She finished Peggle and Peggle nights, as well as all of Yahtzee adventures.

I've tried her on a ton of the other games and it seems we are striking out, and it is breaking my heart :(

If I could ONLY get Heroes of Might and Magic, it would be aces. She's not huge into the fighting, she really likes the wandering and adventuring. I might try her on Highborne.

I'm beginning to think that she isn't going to find the perfect game on iOS...

Unless there are some things out there that I'm missing?

Man, with SO many games offered here on IOS, you've definitely gotta be missing good ones! There's games for absolutely every taste! To be honest, if there's nothing here that she'd like, you just might have to forget about her being your gaming buddy! Period!

I think the problem is just finding those games, for example like the stuff on PopCap or Kongregate, on the iOS device seems hard.

Does that make sense? PopCap games are just so casual and don't require that complete focus. And I know where she's coming from. I don't want to be totally distracted when watching a TV show, but I like to have something else to do.

Playing something like Burn the Rope, or a lot of the "action" or fast paced games just doesn't work when you're trying to do something else. That's the whole rub of the thing.

So, not saying that the games aren't great, they ARE, but the problem is I just want to focus on easy, but enticing, games.

There are just so many casual "puzzle" style games on the PC that haven't transferred onto the iOS platform, I guess that's the style she's looking into.

I'm hesitant to check out Smiles, simply because of the crazy price point. And I've not been batting 1,000..

Although quite a few of the games have been big hits with my kids, even if they suck at them ;)

How about donut games, like Urban Ninja, Traffic Rush, Monkey Flight?

Azkend? It is a vary charming game, a variation on match-3, with some other light puzzles mixed in occasionally.

What was her reaction to Laytonesque puzzle collections wrapped in a narrative, like Puzzle Agent and Jim and Frank Mystery Files (?) ?

Also, I have no personal experience with Settlers of Cathan(?), but people who liked Carcassone appear to like it too.

    Bust a Marble!

Our newest game, Bust A Marble (free), is super-easy to learn and has been popular with a lot of "non-gamers" (my Mom loves it). You just drag your finger to connect long strings of like-colored marbles to clear the board.

Pocket frogs. All you do is screw around and breed frogs. About as passive as it gets

Okay, what other board games like Carcassonne are availale? I think some of the "hex" games might be too complex, and Catan seems to have very mixed Reviews/only pass and play multiplayer.

I was thinking samurai, but I don't know how easy to pick up it is.

On to a few other suggestions. Scratch me just looks creepy and a bit too pointless

Pocket frogs is nice, but it isn't her style. There's not enough to it and even I got a bit tired of the frog making process.

Bust a marble actualy looks like it could be great. And looking at the reviews, seems like I'm not the only person who feels that way. You need to promote the heck out of that game here, and get yourself a developer forum avatar. You are going to go far!!

I saw depict, and I'm sort of intrigued! How different is it from we doodle, though? Looks sort of the same..

Thanks! It's been doing great so far... after last week's climb to Number 30 App, it's been leveling off in the Top 50 in Puzzle Games and Action Games. Try it out and let me know if you have suggestions... we're hard at work on the next big update right now. :)

Small World. It's even got cute, non-threatening artwork.

Scrabble is one of the greatest casual games on the App Store.

I always play it. You don't need a ton of attention. I absolutely love it. I think you're wife will definitely enjoy it!!!

I think we're going to try Small World. I was hoping we could find something that was dual device multiplayer like Carcassonne. I think Samurai offers the same, but I don't know how "complicated" it is...

And we play Lexulous quite often - but... I don't know, I like something a bit different. I'm not as hooked into it as my wife is ;)

Why not try Real Racing 2 HD? You can have a 10-hour single-player campaign. It's really worth playing.

Real racing doesn't work for what we want. I want slow paced games. I don't want to have to spend that kind of focus on a game. Just not into racing for this purpose.

I'm trying to figure out what to do board game wise.

I see Reiner knizia has a ton of games on sale.

    Ra
    keltis Oracle
    Kingdoms
    Through the desert

I could get the lot of them for under $20 right now.

Maybe I should do a thread talking about board games.

I REALLY like Carcassonne and how chill it is, so I'm worried that the Reiner games are going to be a bit too complicated or not fun with just 2 people. Or that the learning curve is going to be unwieldy.

I think I'm getting into something great. But we just aren't the brightest of people, so something TERRIBLY complicated wouldn't be good :)

    Anyone?

I was shocked by misreading the title as 'helf finding my wife'. After a second look, I can make sure it's about game.
I think playing games like real racing won't bother too much while doing other things. At least it works for me that playing games and watching TV get tother. I just do them one after another, playing games when it's ad time.
    Maybe it's because I'm a game amateur.

Yeah, but it's just not our style :)

I've picked up Ra, Tichu and Samurai to play. I'd like ideas other than a board game, though.

I think we're going to try out Highborn, too.

I think Neuroshima Hex might be a bit too complicated. But who knows... I'll start at the start :)
