For me this is the best rts for the iphone yet, one thing i like is that the screen isn't very big, so there isnt much need for a fast forward button, and is the perfect size.
Agreed, and the pace of the game is perfect, never feels dull or rushed. I am still working through the single player mode, enjoying it a lot so far.
The actual "gameplay" screen looks to be at the same aspect ratio as the DS version (the iPhone version has a much larger resolution and you can see a lot more on the field). I like the landscape view, but the game is completely playable in portrait mode (all the screen positions are the same, just rotated 90 degrees). I've been playing a bit of single player, though I spent most of the time in offline multiplayer skirmish to get a feel of the units and gameplay. Before anyone complains, there is NO zooming. You don't really need it in this game, the maps are pretty small, the units are pretty large, and zooming would only kill the details of the wonderfully animated sprites. iPod screenshot: DS screenshot: This game is solid. I'll try recording some gameplay next time.
Loving this game! My only issues are the icon and the fact that there is no auto save. It would also be nice to be able to hide the sidebar. We need to find a time to test out the online component.
I finally got a chance to play it last night and got through the first 5 tutorial type missions. Its pretty cool so far, but is there a convenient way to have a mass of soldiers and heros to go somewhere like to attack or whatever? I know there are the action flags, but I don't feel like I'm truly controlling what's going on with them. Is there any type of unit selection. Also, the stealth bot that can plant fake action flags...what exactly affect does that have?
I dont know about the rest, but apparently the fake action flags lure the other team towards them, because they think that is where you are going, or so it says in the game.
I am almost done with the campaign mode (only 2 missions left I believe). I agree I would like more control over where the units move to, also a way to lock action flags (so that a medic would permantly follow a certain unit until I disable the flag) etc.
If the number on top is the time played (on the load screen) like I think it is, then I have played for 18:06, which seems a bit high but I don't know. I have been playing it a lot so thats quite possible.
Wow, that is alot of playability, i have played up to only level 8 in 5hours and am stuck. What difficulty are you playing on? Im playing on easy.
I am playing on normal, I have had to repeat a few but I have never really been stuck on any of them, just got a bit distracted and let my resources build up with out spending anything.
