Just finished 1st chamber. Yep... Chambers are like the chapters. And man... The setting is pretty demented. I love how accurate the gesture controls are. The sounds and visuals are, for lack of better words, totally effed up. This is like The Room, but more free-roaming, and of course differs in theme. The puzzles havent been too difficult yet, but i expect them to. Great controls with sensitivity sliders under options, and a y-axis reverse option as well. Spoiler i love how when you die on a certain trap, you will be reborn, and when you pass by the trap that killed you, your previous body will be slumped lifeless on the triggered trap. Opening locks can involve taking a found key from your pouch, and dragging it into the keyhole, then you need to motion-swipe the key to rotate in order to open the lock... Reminiscent of The Room. But this is definitely no clone. There is a story uncovered in Myst style, where you keep track of found scattered pages of what seems like a diary of sorts. I love the writing style, the atmosphere, the controls, the sights and sounds, and the whole concept of the game overall. Oh, and there are hints in options that you can toggle, but im not sure how it is implemented as i didnt try it at all. I love to figure things out on my own under the pressure of the game's atmosphere. I've only done the first chamber, but i feel compelled to tell you guys of my imps so that you pick this game up already. Definitely worth the cheap price of $3. Easily worth more than that.
Well I'll be picking this up when it's up in US. Monument Valley and this is my this weeks purchases. Any other I should try?
Blek is a good one if you don't already have it. Nihilumbra has good reviews and that's just gone free.
Graphics are not as good as seen on the pictures. The sound design does a mistake (IMHO) you can always hear a "monster" even if there is nothing it all, wich kills the scare factor for me...
You realize it's a game where you are in the middle of death and decay, right? This isnt a stealth game. The ambient groans and croaks are part of the setting.
Sorry for off-topic question but I just want to compare graphics. Is Infinity Blade 3 also made by Unreal Engine 3? If yes, then I'll be damned this game will have extraordinary graphics.
It will already be a busy "buy" day for me tomorrow, with three of the Blackwell games being released. And now this, which looks like another instant buy. Why does it seem as though some weeks we have nothing, then we have weeks like this, where there seems to be a virtual flood of outstanding games.
It's out now! Just downloading. Leave imps soon. Looks nice first two levels are easy, to start you off, as usual. Word of advice turn down sensitivity to walk beam and get key too before walking beam. Good so far let's see how it goes. Apart from Blackwell this is it for the week!
Oh hell no this game is like The room but instead you can walk around and explore. (Im saying this in a good way) the graphics are hella good and it runs smoothleh on my ipod 5th gen.
Me too! Looks nice on ipod but bigger on iPad mini! So hard to choose but then I don't have to. For now.
