If anyone needs a hint on the car battery thing look at my profile thingy and if you need some help too let me know and I will post when I can. (Don't spoil the game though for yourself!)

Genuine bolt from the blue this one! Anyone even vaguely interested in point and (tap?) click adventure games really owes it to themselves to purchase this game. At full price too, any way to encourage the dev to get episode 2 out sooner:) seriously don't wait or ask for price drops as it would be an insult to the dev in my opinion. The fact that a game of this sort of quality can suddenly appear with little fanfare on the AppStore is amazing.

Just got my self out to the crime scene. This game is filthy, irreverent, misanthropic, twisted, and smart as a whip. As scarypharoah says, anyone remotely interested in point-and-click adventure games -- or, really, British humor in general -- needs to pick this up now. One of the best games I've played recently on any platform. The one liners come fast and furious and, for once, are genuinely funny. This is precisely the kind of mature (in the sense of being fully formed) games people keep saying they want for the platform. Well, it's here. Go get it.

Really....i know we're all kinda "trained" to rush thru the convos and whatnot. But seriously take your time with this. Talk to people till youve gone over each and every option. Try interacting with everything you can. Even if you know its nuthing he can do with it, he'll give a witty remark. Even something simple s telling him to scoop up the paper clip from the toilet with the booze bottle made him be a smart arse. Take it all in and enjoy it cause a game this fantastic doesnt come around very often. In fact, this is the first one for this platform.

    Doing nothing of importance.

Compared to other games on the App Store, exactly HOW much "mature content" is there? It doesn't seem too bad, but I'm just curious considering the 17+ rating.

There's really nothing explicit in the game, just some really filthy stuff that is suggested and/or shown obliquely. The game has the kind of super-sarcastic tone you would find in something like the Young Ones, combined with some naughty Benny Hill type humor, and even a bit of Edgar Wright/Hot Fuzz meta-fictional stuff. There's nothing in it that you wouldn't find in many of the films currently on sale in iTunes. It's a game for grown-ups, but that doesn't mean that it's pornographic or even titillating.

EDIT: This kind of answers your question, too, Somerandomdude.

Your right but knowing the appstore's hypocritical policy no one knows.

I second all those influences, mabe with a bit of penny arcade for the art. Turns out, a dev figured out the correct way to use the term "adult".

I just think it's too good to be removed. I don't think I'm being naive here, but as I mentioned earlier, Apple's concern is not with filth so much as it is with cheesy filth. Basically, they don't want the app store to look like a page from one of those free weeklies (you know which page I'm talking about).

Yep -- Penny Arcade without a doubt, though this seems to be less concerned with the typical geeky subjects.

I think you hit the nail on the head here. I truly hope other Devs take a good hard look at what the Devs for this game did and follow it's example so future games with this sort of quality can be more abundant.

The AppStore description does give a full Content disclaimer about it being 17+, so one would assume that the people approving apps are intelligent enough to discern comedy from cheesy filth. The amount of effort that has been clearly put into the project deserves as much success as possible. It's practically a cliche nowadays to say we are living in an AppStore golden age for gaming, but it's so true. I'm supposed to be working at the moment, but seeing people getting as excited as I am about the game is quite distracting!

    Game Impressions

Really great point & click, I'm already in love with Hector (hmm, not this sort of love :p).
The humour is great (a little geek sometimes :D) and the different puzzles are logical (a good point for me as I like having a break with the weird ideas from Monkey Island). I was pleased to discover that I could choose between the different quests and play them in the order of my choice.
Great art and voice acting too, but as a non english native, the parts without subtitles are a hard time for me :(

I hope to see episode 2 very soon on the Store :)

Not very good at P&C games, I haven't played many apart from Mystery Mania and Machinarium. But this is very good fun. I like experimenting around with stuff, so this is the way to go.
