It amazes me what a good job blizzard did with animating the golden cards. Each animation is tailored so perfectly to the scene on the card.
Not that I'm complaining but normally I can't play on Tuesday morning because they're doing their weekly maintenance. This is a nice surprise.
Lost 4 casual games a row: Paladin, Shaman and x2 Hunter. I never lose to Hunter! I'm done with casual play with Mage. Not enough synergy with basic cards for constructed [deck] play. I'm doubting myself, tweaking deck construction away from its intended aim [fast aggro - albeit with basic cards], and the draw has been killing me. In every, single game! my opponents were faster putting minions on the board, I didn't draw Taunts / removal until it was too late. Just one of these days were nothing, absolutely nothing worked. I'm hot from the weather, tired and irritated from work, cannot concentrate (at my girlfriend's family) and have not enjoyed my games because I have not felt competitive in the sense of making my opponent work for the victory. My whole playing style feels out of sorts with my deck. Taking a break from Hearthstone - or at least, from chasing dailies, and focusing on unlocking classes and learning the cards. I will be back when I feel fresher towards the weekend.
The Curse of Naxxramas (offline/campaign) expansion is scheduled to release sometime in July (as confirmed by a Blizzard community manager today)! The release will be simultaneous for PC / Mac / iPad. Nice to see Blizzard considers iOS devices on a level platform; Hearthstone is definitely at the top of my "ports", though the animations and gameplay speed could be a bit faster to match the PC counterpart I've been playing HS ever since it launched for the iPad; I never bothered trying it on the PC when it launched last year. I've thoroughly enjoyed it and have happily supported Blizz with a few card-pack purchases. Great game!
Try copying simple / F2P decks first from the Hearthstone community and well-known Hearthstone players. Constructing your own decks is not advised for beginning players. Once you get a hang of how the decks and cards work... then you can try your own deck. Trump has a very good F2P Mage, Shaman, and Warlock deck which I'm sure you will have a moderate chance at winning matches with.
Awesome. I can't wait for this. You're right it does feel a lot faster when I play on my Mac. I love having the ipad version though.
According to IGN we should have pricing info for the Naxaramas expansion on July 1st..... Not as though it really matters as I'll be buying it anyway. (well, within reason)
Nah they went back on that, someone in r/hearthstone found a post in their forums. but the card back for July is Nax-themed, so we should be getting it later this month regardless.
Fresh Nax info! http://us.battle.net/hearthstone/en/blog/14601010/curse-of-naxxramas%E2%84%A2-wing-entry-details-and-heroic-mode-7-8-2014 TLDR; wings are 700 gold / $6.99 each, and there are 5 of them The first wing is free if you get it within a month of release. Blizzard will be unlocking 1 new wing per week, even if you buy all the wings at once you won't be able to access them until Bliz unlocks them. There are also bundle prices if you buy wings together, so if you get the first wing free then you can get the next 4 for only $20, or if you buy one wing with gold (what I'm trying to do) you will be able to buy the rest for only $15 dollars.
Not sure about offline, but definitely against AI. It would make sense to make part of the game fully offline by now though, since as is there is already the practice mode that has you playing AI opponents, and that shouldn't require a connection
Playing this game makes me miss poxnora ( a online card game with a large board and mobile units). It's amazing how much more skill a game that uses board positioning takes vs a standard card game. But that does mean that the AI is somewhat competent. Deck building, mana curves, and meta gaming would be the real skill, but that's all mitigated by net decking. Given the limited ways you can interact with the board I remain unconvinced that there is a lot of skill involved in actually playing. Sure there is knowing what your opponent is likely to do or have in his hand, but other than that I'm not seeing the skill part. In a game like poxnora a top player could take a bad deck and run a 90% win rate against good players.
Well 20$ it is. Although I may try to gold 1 wing. Btw paladin players. You might want to try Kolento's version, which is the #1 deck in EU I think. I faced those variations on ranked and they are a handful. Best counter to miracle rogues.
Ive got 3500 gold saved up. Thinking of getting it for 20usd and gold for packs since its cheaper that way. Yeah, Kolento hit legend 1 with the pally deck. Too many removal, but its slow, so best to rush them, but if you ran out of gas you are dead. Plenty of draw and heal too.
Wow that's a lot of gold. It has a lot of healing and taunts also. What's good about it is the amount of early game cards, he got the balance of curve right. It can stomp zoo . Tried it myself.
