Have you played Arena at all? That is a lot of fun, once you learn how to build a good deck. I like Hearthstone because I can complete the daily missions during the week and play Arena with that coin during the weekend, while slowly building my collection. Theres plenty of other all-encompassing games to be playing in the meanwhile. Originally Posted by Amenbrother View Post Well this game grabbed my interest quick and strong like but now its fading. On my first 40-pack purchase I was unlucky - I got 2 Van Cleef legendaries (making the 2nd an automatic disenchanted legendary for 400 dust) and the dragon that makes each player turn last for only 15 secs. What makes this funny is that I usually take the time during my turns, thinking of all the possibilities and calculating the best possible outcome. It has even been a running joke here at the office that my opponents can have coffee, or go on a CR break, during my turns! So yeah, safe to say that dragon got disenchanted into dust as well.
IMO, A good player should take his time and think of all the possible move. Heck, most streamers I see even spends a few seconds before ending their first turn. I play fast, probably because I know most of the deck builds, can already anticipate what to expect and do, as well as I'm already thinking what to do on my opponents turn.
Haven't played more than 5 or 6 games yet but can't see what is so good about this game. Seems a fairly average ccg with poor voice acting. What am I missing. Magic: The Gathering seems streets ahead better than this. Is it just the WOW appeal?

Why yes, yes I am... I'm using 2 decks at the moment - one a Mage, and two a Warlock Zoo Aggro type. If you'll notice these decks are extremely cheap (in terms of dust cost) to build and can be competitive enough vs other more expensive decks. It's more because of my lack of Legendaries than anything but I'm loving these two right now. Looking forward to playing with your decks - maybe we can have a tracker of who wins and loses and what decks were played...
This is the most simple web based tracker I use: Code: http://hearthstone-stats.herokuapp.com/ There are programs and other websites that can automatically track your stats such as: Code: http://hearthstonetracker.com/ http://hearthstats.net/
Finally decided to create a Canada account (shows what to do on Geek.com) and get this game. You never know how long "soon" is when Blizzard said it was coming soon to the US. Could be days, weeks, but I haven't seen any indication anywhere.
Dang i need those Legendaries to close out games for me on my Warrior control. Ragnaros hits for 8 the turn he comes into play, Alex drops enemies down to 15 health, Cairne is almost always guaranteed to deal damage the next turn, and even the Baron can get free 2 damage on everything including the heros. Often times i lose because my War Golem or the Ogres have to sit one turn before they can swing their arms. They usually end up being baits for Polymorphs, fireballs, Siphon Souls, Deadly Shots, etc., which is nice, but they need to deal damage before that happens, which is what makes the Warrior Control decks very formidable. At its current state, i can even lose to random decks with big minion removal. I need those legends. LOL
Yup, warrior control is expensive. You will need to grind for it. Big difference with legendaries vs other cards, is that most of them will trigger an effect before they die or they will do something once they are played, which means VALUE. Like Argent commander is most probably going to trade 2:1. Another value card. Good luck with the grind!
^Yeah i got lucky getting 2 Argent commanders now from packs. Very, VERY useful, especially efficient as removal, but isnt too shabby at dealing 4 to the face before they die as well. I just hate the current Mage meta though, coz they just ping the shield off before they take out the Argent Commanders. But against any other class, ACs will almost always trade for 2 cards.
Man, I had to craft 2 Azure Drakes, 2 Argent Commander and 2 Defender of Argus when I started! Some staple (Neutral) cards that I always use on my decks are: Havest Golem (in all aggro/tempo decks) Azure Drakes (in all tempo decks with spells) Argent Squire (in all aggro/tempo decks) Defender of Argus (in all aggro/tempo decks) Big Game Hunter (in all decks without hex/poly) Chillwind Yeti (does nothing but survives any 4 attack minion) Gadgetzan Auctioneer (in all spell heavy decks) For Legendary: Bloodmage Thalnos (in all spell heavy decks) Leeroy (in all aggro/tempo burst decks) Cairne Bloodhoof (in all tempo/control decks) The Black Knight (in all of my decks with out hex/poly) Ragnaros (in some decks, usually depending on current meta) Reason being, they are all value cards.
^great list as usual Tabs. I also value Sen'Jin Shieldmasta highly. It's surprisingly almost always a 2 for 1, as well as able to survive 4 damage from spells or from the likes of the yeti. Works well on either tempo or control decks, or even aggro, but that is a role filled much more effectively by Defender of Argus in that case IMO. And for aggro, i have a ton of respect for the Leper Gnome. Guaranteed 2 damage on death, and not too shabby as a beatstick at 2/1 for 1-cost if unchecked. At turn one, he's quite a valuable if he gets to trade with (or delay) an opponent's 2-cost 3/2s which are quite common on aggro decks, and he still dishes out that 2 damage to the opponent's face
I love Tazdingo! but you either stick with Yeti or Shieldmasta. Can't have too many 4 drops. On decks with heavy taunt, Taz is not that needed and would settle for Yeti instead. Still, I see high ranking warrior control using Taz as well as priest and shaman control.
