Woh. Ok... After reading that maybe i should slow down on making my warrior deck and focus more on mage and warlock. Well, warlock aggro isnt really my thing, but i'll go warlock control. Im guessing, like in mtg, control decks are generally more expensive.
Up to Rank 20 currently, have mage 20/20 but think I may prefer Shaman which I have at 16/20. My two attempts at arena have been pretty bad. I think I may need to wait until I have a few more decks at 20/20 and have more experience with how they play. If you think about it, arena really costs 160 -- the 150 plus the 10 gold you could get for playing 3 games. So you kind of have to be decent for it to pay off I think.
Also, Hearthstats.net is interesting. It tracks two kind of stats, constructed win rates by class, and arena win rates. Both have certain biases and failures, but probably the classes that do well on both lists are good choices and the classes that do poorly (priest) are comparatively worse.
True, and come to think of it, maybe the arena wins count towards the 10 gold so the cost is really 150. Anyway, my point was that if one is just starting out and may suck at arena, it may not be the best deal right away.
Arena wins definitely count towards daily goals and the 10 gold you get for winning three games. I loved the arena when I was starting out. It gave me access to play really powerful cards so I could try them out.
Sadly the best I've done in the arena is two wins and got 45 gold along with the pack. So two wins brings you pretty close to just buying a pack, depending on what you get as your other prize. To me, it's definitely worth it to have the chance to get hot at the right time and win a few arena games.
I've gotta stop buying packs...I think I spent $150 on cards the past week...lol. I think I have like 4-5 legendaries now....but the cards are so pretty... :X
yup... in your 2 win run, that's not a bad run at all. you got 145 coins worth off your 150 entrance which is almost break even. Only lost 5 coins after all.
I've spent $40, but my second Legend is also crappy but it is a GOLD version of Harrison Jones, easy decision to disenchant for 1600 dust
Or, the only ones using priests are the not-so-good players. I mean it's not all the cards' fault. I've played a guy using a warrior, and he played legendary after legendary, but he made too many obviously bad choices. He couldnt stop my 14 attack frothing berserker.
OMG that's a lot of money! I have one golden legendary and I know I should disenchanted for a lot of dust, but I can't make myself do it. I like how the card looks.
Well, looks like balance is pretty good because no class is winning less than 45%. So in any particular game skill and deck luck are probably going to be more important than race. However, clearly cards do matter. Lost a couple of super close ones to a mage this morning with two of the +8 armor cards. Would love to have those for my deck
Since you're going for a handlock deck.. DE king krush for one of the giants (molten or mountain) and Harrison for either Alextraza or Jaraxus... Those are the key components..
Playing in Casual mode when you're early in the game is pointless, right? Is there any matchmaking that goes on there? I was facing people with very powerful cards and went 10-15 matches without a win. Switched to Ranked and won 6 in a row with ease.
