Nope, it not too hard at all. It definitely doesn't need resigning!! Just make sure you have a plist editor on your PC (there are free ones) Open the ipa with winrar or winzip (DO NOT EXTRACT, JUST OPEN!!) Find info.plist and open... Look for this below < key>UIDeviceFamily< /key> < array> < integer>2< /integer> There are no spaces, I've added them so you can see the code... Copy < integer>2< /integer> and paste it directly beneath and then change the copy and pasted integer to 1... Save, import, congratulations you've just made the app universal No sorry, iPhone 5 tested though, only played the first game... Everything seems to be smooth! I used a jailbreak tweak call fullforce to stretch it to fit my 4" display (Although the font is tiny!)
Thanks KDN3 but I get nothing but a greyed out icon on my phone when I try it. Tap on it again and again and nothing happens. Did exactly as you described (have been all day). Don't know why mine is so different. Can't get the app to actually install.
Hmm... You did remove the spaces I added so the code could be seen on the forum? Make sure you save the altered info.plist and import it back into the ipa... I used ifunbox to install
Thanks for the help KN03 and for going to that detail. Unforts I still can't get it to happen for me. But not giving, just ran out of time for now. I'll try another day. Still got it on ipad so that'll do for now.
I wonder if this isn't launching way sooner than we think it is, Blizzard sent me an iPad with the game loaded on it via FedEx and usually big companies don't do press outreach until right before launch. I guess they don't follow TouchArcade as it'd be obvious that I have both an iPad and the game but... hey, whatever.
That's be a good giveaway... I've not seen a single bug, crash or error. I can't see any reason why they wouldn't put it out. Not like they need to test servers or balance, right?
Wait they sent you an Ipad and the game loaded on it? Like you can keep the iPad? Thats awesome if so.
Aw.... just checked and shield slam is an epic card, so the chances of getting those are kinda slim... Even through crafting On the downside, it only affects minions, but it seems pretty solid for being 1-cost. I really enjoy the weapons and armor part of the Warrior's kit so i think i'll stick with this class for a bit. Hoping for an intl release soon so i can buy some packs and get some dust for crafting
Is there any way to trick the ipad into thinking i have the PH version of the app instead of the CA one? EDIT: Maybe i should try the PC version and buy from there
Found this on the net, but list the link. Have to look for it later: Hearthstone for iPhone & Android Both versions are in development at the company and will be out "probably" in the first half of 2014, Blizzard said.
This is an amazing game and an even better iPad port. I think it must be the new gold standard for how to do this sort of game on iOS. Its infinitely better than the Magic the Gathering iOS ports which are very slow and clunky, with interfaces which clearly haven't been designed around a tablet. I actually hadn't played Hearthstone before but I've played the iPad version for about 15 hours now and its almost flawless (iPad Air, for reference - I doubt it will be as smooth on older tablets). I installed it on my laptop last night to see how it compared, and I think the tablet version is actually better than the computer version - being able to drag cards around with your finger is a lot more natural than using a mouse. It actually feels like Blizzard designed the original interface with tablets in mind from the beginning, rather than just doing a half-hearted port (see: MtG). This will be the definitive Hearthstone version in my opinion, and its a 10/10 title easily. This has been a great year for iOS gaming so far, and its nice to see big name titles coming to the platform while they are still hot, rather than years after everyone has played them to death. edit: I said its 'almost' flawless because there are some crashing issues. It doesn't happen too often but I've had about 2-3 crashes in 70 or so games, which is annoying. I suspect that the problem is more with the iPad Air than Hearthstone though - the Air is a crippled device with only 1gb memory and most memory intensive apps crash a lot (especially Safari with multiple tabs). I'm only on iOS 7 rather than 7.1 though so I'd be curious to know whether the crashes are still present on 7.1, since some people have said its slightly more stable in general. But still, the crashes are nowhere near frequent enough to really affect the game, they are a minor irritation. / The other issue is that iOS is a joke of an operating system in general and doesn't do multitasking properly, so if you minimise Hearthstone during a game for more than a few seconds then there is a high probability that you get logged out the server and forfeit the match (which is why the crashing issue is doubly annoying). This isn't Blizzard's fault as such, because its an iOS problem that is due to bad operating system design, and affects all internet-connected titles. However it would have been nice if things were more robust and there was an option to rejoin a game you were playing if you get logged out and come back within 30 seconds or so. The android version will be a lot better in this regard.
You can just buy cards on battle-net using your computer, everything is synced. I bought a few decks last night, its not an issue
I'm actually surprised at how smooth it runs on my first gen iPad Mini. It's crashed a couple of times in the four days I've had it, but never during a game. And yeah there is a bit of slow down when first starting up or on some loading screens. Otherwise it's great. This game is going to be huge on iOS, and Android as well when it's released.
You shouldn't be suprised when it comes to Blizzard they were always amazing for me with their games especially WoW with fixes, updates, extra content and competitions ect I know they will make the iPhone version just as good too, although I am wondering how it'll work but I have high hopes.
I was just meaning after others mentioning it having slow spells, etc on the iPad Air and iPad 2. I knew I was getting a super polished and well supported game.
I don't know about the iPad hearthstone version but on the Mac and I think PC version if you get disconnected you have 60 seconds to reconnect to your game. I read that in the last patch notes and tried it out on my Mac and I was able to reconnect to my game just fine. If it isn't on the iPad version now I think Blizzard will add it soon.
Yup... that's what i was gonna do but when i installed on the PC i had to play a few practice games to level up my Warlock to 10 to unlock his cards. LOL
The 60 seconds is active on the ipad version as well i think. I got DC'd twice in one game yesterday, and i just logged back in and rejoined the game. Also, one time the app crashed, i removed the app from the background and restarted fresh, and i got back in the game fine.
I just got a legendary card for all classes! It is a dragon that has 8 dmg and 8 health that gives other players only 15 seconds to take their turns lol
