Wow! Loving the art style so far! The first level was a nice surprise , very much enjoyed that. The second level was a bit simplistic in comparison. Stuck on the third level, but made a few interesting discoveries so far... Loving the game so far! It's very unconventional, which I like. And the art direction is wonderful
I'm lucky enough to have the opportunity to try the game early. This was actually a wonderful surprise. I'm stuck too at the third stage (I think I know what to do but can't) but I had a blast with the first two. The style is very peculiar...a pulp '70 scifi vibe that goes very well with the background music (the spotify idea is brilliant). Reminds me a bit Simogo productions, but with a very original style. Looking forward to play more!!!
That is so very kind, and the 70's pulp description is wonderful. Actually never considered it. Have to get back to artist Kamila on that one. I hope you get passed stuck, otherwise pm me for a hint.
A video tease of Heartbeats... It's hard to show parts of Heartbeats - A Graphic Puzzle without spoiling it, so we went pretty minimalistic in terms of trailer material. This is all you'll get: Subscribe to the TouchArcade YouTube channel
Let me add if you are interested in the game...refrain to watch anything. It's one of those games better experienced first hand, if you know what I mean. I'm under the impression the first stages are free anyway, like a demo...am I wrong?
You're completely right. The game is free until the fourth level. From then on it's $ 0.99 USD in total. And yeah, to video preview or not to video preview. Happy you gave other users an informed choice at least. Thanks once more!
This is awesome! I felt really stupid for about 5 minutes, looking at the first screen. And I like that, because then when something "clicks" and you realize you know what to do, it is so very satisfying. Brilliant fun! (And such an appealing style.)
Ha, yes! Wonderful. Did it help? (And on a site note if your into that sort of thing we did this yelling app game gag a while back: http://www.elfscare.com)
Played the game for a few minutes today and I fell in love with the art style. The game is good enough to have made me shell out a buck to unlock the full thing. I especially loved the space puzzle and thought it was really clever. However I wasn't a fan of the chess one (maybe coz it's not really my thing) and I felt the timer was very quick for someone who isn't chess-savvy (or maybe I'm missing something?). Also you should check the dev's post concerning the soundtrack and music on the first page of this thread because the EPs are free to download and contain some good music gems. So all in all, I'd love to see a more solid thing from the devs. It's a short experience so maybe they can expand on it and transform it into something bigger and more fulfilling. The elements of success are already here anyways ^^
Thanks!!! Too kind. And yeah, we hope to do an extended graphic puzzle at some point. Maybe next year. Thanks for the push! You're not missing a thing on the chess puzzle. It's just like that. Ruthless. And yeah, it's obviously a gamble on our part to have these unforgiving puzzle elements. We are listening to the playlists all the time, it's been a real treat to have them coming in from the creators. Glad you like them! Best, Esben, designer - Heartbeats
Yes, it did help! I am now on level 7. I saw the elf game on your website yesterday! I was laughing out loud at the video. Oh, the possibilities! I'll bet you could play it at a crowded concert and clear a nice little circle of space around yourself as people flee from the nutter yelling at their phone.
Elf Scare is definitely anti social, that's for sure! I'm quite delighted, that you're sticking in there with Heartbeats, though! That's very cool! Good luck (or pain, depending on how you look at it). All the best, Esben
