Sometimes I'll use PC monitor with DVI input instead of HD TV with HDMI. Can you please share link or photo of that DVI - HDMI adapter?
Two examples (also linked from my overscan article): http://www.amazon.com/DVI-HDMI-Cable-6ft-Male-Male/dp/B0002CZHN6/ref=pd_cp_e_1 http://www.amazon.com/Importer520-Plated-Female-DVI-D-Adaptor/dp/B0035B4LJM/ref=pd_bxgy_e_img_y They'll both work just fine.
Reprint from the Game of the Week Thread ------- Oh, this has to be one of the BEST weeks so far this year. All the games I nominated Bellyfish Alien shooter Blitz brigade Daddys a thief Impossible road Are all fantastic games! Don't know if any one game is particularly the game of the year, but first time in a long time I can actually say that each game deserved it and all. But unfortunately I have to choose. Alien shooter and brigade are great and all, but I kinda like games that play well on an icade joystick and hdmi tv. Strange week, cause I prodded 3 developers somehow to implement icade joystick, so that rocks!!! The developer for daddys said he would put in icade for crumble zone and he would try perhaps for daddys, the impossible road dev said yes, it will be getting icade. And the dev of bellyfish has been great working with me on testflight for icade joystick use on icade. Even though he does not have an icade yet, we are making great progress!!! Kinda reminds me of working with Volbard for Plasma Sky Support. The devs and I have been really clueless at times, but thanks to some help from some other great developers, we somehow managed to get icade support working for it. Icade joystick support seems to be really taking off lately, and it is great that the future is bright for joystick support for the ipad and iphone, and once Apple comes out with their own wireless joystick, at least for now there are getting to be more icade joystick games on the market. Sure, many people laugh at me saying Connector is a wannabe console nutcase, but hey, that's ok, doesn't bother me one bit. Those same people 5 years from now won't be laughing at me one bit. Or at least I hope so, hehe. Anyway, enough rambling, daddys will probably not get icade though crumble zone will, so that rules it out. Bellyfish I would love to vote for cause I am a beta tester for icade support, but it is a portrait game so not good for hdmi, so is out as well. So I will go with Impossible Road, cause it will have icade suppport too soon, and plays great on hdmi tv! It does need a slight controls tweaking on the ipads, but I think they will do that and add icade on a future update. It might not be the best game this week, but hey, it's really tough for me to make up my mind. I give you all my regards, and as always, a screenshot of my vote for the week.
I have to fit an Amazon UK order to get free shipping (iCade price is not enough), so i'd like to buy it there. I found a couple of items, can you tell which of them is good? Premium HDMI to DVI Cable Gold 2 Metre http://amazon.co.uk/dp/B000GDI6FC AmazonBasics HDMI to DVI Adapter Cable 9.8 Feet / 3.0 m http://amazon.co.uk/dp/B001TH7T2U
Done. You'll have a new HDMI & iCade addicted in a few days: me. Thanks to Connector and Men for their entusiastic effort. For italian friends: L'iCade è acquistabile su Amazon UK a meno di 30 euro compreso spedizione, ma solo dal venditore Forza UK. Uploaded with ImageShack.us
Reprint from GOW thread Yeah, since I got an ipad 3, I just may upgrade to the 5, but I'm kinda thinking I maybe I will wait for the ipad 6 cause by doing so many changes to shape, cpu/gpu updates maybe neglected. I think ipad 6 maybe have more of a focus on being a true console machine. But who knows. It's interesting that you are iphone only. I don't know how long I could survive just with my iphone too. Never game on it, only thing I do only iphone is read the TA chatroom and game threads, maybe some newspapers too. Bellyfish icade support is going well. It will probably be coming out at some point. Fangz too. If you got an ipad, strongly suggest picking up an icade core joystick, tons of games are getting icade now, it really is fun. And believe it or not, girls love icade. I've been bringing it with me to social events, and all the girls love playing with me. Crazy huh??? Tap the link in my title to go to the hdmi thread which has alot of icade info, or to the icade thread. Anyway, looks like today the icade version of mission impossible is out. I think, the update says arcade peripheral support. What the heck that means, I dunno, wish stupid apple would just let developers say icade support. Something to look forward to tonight on hdmi tv. As always if it is icade and hdmi tv support, i will take a fancy picture for you all.
Nice, I'll do the same ;-) At this time some developers break the rules in App Store app description, some don't. Funny.
At this point I don't think apple really cares. Truthfully I think that was more of an ION rule more than an apple rule.

Yeah, just got icade support. They tightened the controls too on my ipad. The icade works well with impossible road. With icade and hdmi, it makes it really challenging. Since this game is so hard and all, even the slightest delay makes it hard to play with both icade and hdmi at the same time. So it is really fun on tv, but it is kinda tough. Every layer of new gadget whether it be icade or hdmi tv has a little more delay, so the tougher it gets to play. I still love to play on my tv, but it is a little frustrating. But fun nonetheless. Probably not playeable on ipad 4 hdmi due to the extra lag. Impossible road with icade only works really well. I would very highly recommend it. It is a blast.
.. So I have an Iphone5 and an Ipad2 but I was wondering what else I would need besides the HDMI cable to play on my tv? Do I need a app or anything to mirror or how does all of this work?
No app is needed - all current A5-based iDevices have mirroring enabled. In addition, games with native TV Out support don't even need a mirroring-capable iDevice to produce output on a TV - many of them even work on a 3GS.
Ok so I do need the HDMI cable and the connector to go to my phone though right? Then what do I do once its all hooked up, do I have to enable mirroring in settings or what? Sorry I am not to familiar with all of this.
Yes, a cable is needed. Mirroring is enabled by default and can't be disabled (unless you jailbreak and disable it in the device capabilities plist).
