So this is going to be a major three-thread poll in order to find out A) how much money people have spent on "energy packs" from any NGmoco game that uses the "freemium" payment plan (Energy Cells for Eliminate, Dog Food for TouchPetDogs and Mojo for WeRule), B) Find out which games they have spent the most money on and C) Which games you've spent the most on. There will be three links here once I am done, one linking you to a "How Much Energy Cells Pack You've Purchased," a "How Much Dog Food You've Purchased" and "How Much Mojo You've Purchased". This is based on how much money you've spent, so please vote accordingly! It'll take awhile for me to get all the other polls up, but I will link them here as soon as I make them! Thanks Derek420 for poll help Eliminate Poll Touch Pet Dogs Poll WeRule Poll Consumer Satisfaction Poll (For those of You Who Have Purchased Items) I hope you all vote honestly so we can get an accurate read on how the TA community views the "Freemium" system!
spent no money. rarely played touchpets, eventually deleted. played eliminate a lot until it stopped connecting. deleted.
huggables are stupid oh and none. go battle bears. http://i989.photobucket.com/albums/af20/SkyVu_Pictures/Smallinsignia.jpg
Haven't payed a cent, and I've only played Eliminate a bit. Stopped because I have FPS's on my computer and the matchmaking system was bad (I don't know about it now, I haven't played it once after updating).
Never spent anything, and to be honest, never want to. Hate the new freemium idea. I want to pay one price, and be able to enjoy that game fully. I don't want to continually pay, just to play it. I feel it limits the enjoyment of the game, as I am constantly thinking 'when does my credit run-out' or 'am I making the most out of this time? I am paying for it' and by the end I feel depressed, having have to pay to play more. Not a good idea!
I've spent about $4 on Eliminate when it first came out. I was crazily playing it and didn't really care I was wasting cash. It's deleted from my iPod now.
Why? You would get the same result asking who paid $19.99 for MMO points. Both World War and iMobster's points are in the Top 100 grossing. http://appshopper.com/bestsellers/games/grossing/?sort=price&dir=desc
But here's the difference: Buy MMO points: One time deal and you normally get things you wouldn't be able to get before. Buy NGmoco "energy packs": You get to do exactly what you would be able to do if you just waited two hours.
I don't think TA members are what you can call FaceBookmoco's target market. As I've said before the people they intend to scum into these are 1. the impatient 2. the uneducated and 3. Those they manage to get addicted. Frankly these freemium model is as imaginative as a drug dealer giving his crack for free to a new user.
I would have considered 1 for uneducated. On the other hand I don't like the freemium model, but that doesn't mean that I will cry just because they adopted this scheme, but it is just a shame that I can't play good games (yes, I liked Eliminate and We Rule) the way I would want, so I will just move on and play other things
