Absolutely cannot wait for this. This is perfect, right down to the style, and care for your pet. When I was a kid I had like 2 Giga Pets, and like 4 Tamagotchi's ahhahaah. I was relentless with that sh*t. It was weird, too. I started a thread a couple months ago asking if there were any good Giga Pet type games on the app store, and this hammers the nail on the head PERFECTLY. And at $.99, is a no brainer.
I for one think it IS cute I don't know what toythatkills is talking about, i think its really cute and so does a lot of the other people on here! Will definitely be picking this up when its released, can't wait!
If you think this is cute, fair enough: Personally, I don't. Tamagotchi was better because everything was brilliantly designed to fit a tiny number of pixels. Here, there are so many "pixels" that there's too much space, and that monster has been over-designed to the point of ugliness. It just doesn't look like it has any personality at all, whereas Tamagotchi was full of it. There's more to making a Tamagotchi clone than just cloning the mechanics, and (based on screenshots alone, obviously) this dev appears to have missed the mark entirely.
Great news Apple have just approved the app. You can get it from http://itunes.apple.com/gb/app/hatchi/id489479624?mt=8
Hmmm just been playing for a few minutes and while I've played virtual pets and things before. You really need to add a little tutorial for noobs like what each activity does and how to regain energy etc. It's looking pretty cool so far, loving the animations and can't wait to see how long it stays alive for. Just my opinion that you do get a instructions sheet if you bought a actual virtual pet toy.
