I've a DS, a Wii and a Xbox 360. So since I've an iTouch, I play only... the iTouch Perhaps because every day, I discover funny, polished and original games. And nice developers too I have not this surprising fun about news, games or dev with my others devices. And of course, there are the (small) prices and the App Store (big supermarket at home ).
Heh, iTouch is my ONLY gaming device. I deliberately avoided all gaming consoles throughout my grad and postgrad years, all these efforts went to waste after I played on my friend's iTouch. I broke down and got one last Christmas
been a massive console fan for years but now cant be bothered with em. half the wii games require you to fling yerself around the room, lol cbf with that! ps3 and xbox are extremely costly with average game time being about 2 weeks before it gathers dust. may as well splash out 59p on simular game time span from the appstore. play a couple of MMOs on the PC ocassionally but much prefer the pick up n play of idevices. its still in its infancy tho, theres big room for improvement on the multiplayer front, once they nailed that i'll be chuffed!
Nice Poll... As I look around here I realize the sad truth... 1) XBox 360 Elite 2) Wii 3) Gamecube 4) PS2 (never bought a PS3!) 5) Nintendo64 (Fully function with some awesome games!) 6) DS Lite 7) GBA SP 8) Gaming PC Which of these have been used in the last three months??? None! I've been playing games on my iPhone. To be fair, two of the last three months have been away from home on consulting projects, but I could have brought the DS or GBA with me. I agree that Zaz nailed it with the fact that there's a great variety of original and cool retro development happening on the iPhone, and shopping for new games is almost too easy Now, on to creating my next game
I have pretty much every gaming console from the last 15 years. I waited in line when the Wii was released, but hardly ever play it anymore. I still play the PS3 and XBox occasionally, maybe once every couple of weeks. I use the PS3 to watch movies probably every other day or so. But I play games on my iPhone EVERY DAY.
NOPE. My iPhone game won't replace my Xbox 360. I play games on my iDevice only when Im in the Subway. It's rarely at home.
Ha what a joke. Never. With the games on the App Store today? Never. I don't even use it when I'm at home.
I'm an avid gamer like most people on this forum. I own the following: Xbox 360 PS3 Gamecube DS Lite Since I got my Iphone, I have played my DS once and I rarely play my consoles. The PS3 is mainly used for Blu Rays and I never read in bed anymore, just play the Iphone. I travel allot with work so the Iphone comes in handy for bus or train journeys and the toilet session have become allot longer when playing the likes of geoDefence.
Yes. I used to be an avid PC gamer several years back, but was not playing much the last few years. The iPod touch has definitely added many hours to playing. Though I still play on the Wii, PC and GBA SP, the largest percentage of my time is on the iPod touch.
My iPhone has easily become my only game consol just because of the great games that you can pick up and play for ten minutes. But I still go back to my playstation and xbox when I want to sit down and play for about an hour.
Except for a couple games which I hardly ever play that run ok on my few gen-old Macbook, the 2nd gen ipod touch is my only gaming device. In the past, I've owned the PSP, DS, Wii, and xbox 360 when it first came out, but I sold them all long ago.
Yes, I was dieing to get my hands on with TOUCH screen controls for Gaming from the time I have been playing WWP on my n-gage qd... Soon, Apple announced an iPhone & then came the iPod touch. Good job, you disowned some evil thing by my-crow-soft
No, my PC has always been the primary device as I am in to MMORPGs for the past 15 years. What I am slowly learning is, while the iDevice is a great platform for a few genres, it is not the best platform for all genres. I purchase most games out of fascination in what the iDevice can do technologicly, but not having tactile buttons is a great shortcoming that I cannot see being overcome. Games where you can point and make decisions are great for this system, yet games that are button-specific are a great challenge as your fingertips cannot feel the button click and it position. So, no, it is not my primary device for gaming because of this. Munkie!
+1 I have a DS, PS3, Gaming Laptop and had a 360 (sold it) but I find that with the multiusage of the iphone it is my second most used device. Unless there is a dedicated game to play on ps3. Heading to a trip overseas in a couple months I am considering just bring my iphone instead of the DS as nothing interests me except scribblenauts.
I go through phases and I have the PS3, Wii and Xbox 360. But at the moment the ipod touch is my most played.
Its equal to my 360. But really they are very different. As im not going to play fallout 3, oblivion, ufc 2009, nhl 09 on my ipod. But i still have plenty of games that i love to play.
