So sad it is the last one. I am really looking forward to seeing the last one. I have kept myself from reading the books till after I see it in the theater.
god I thought the first of the two-parter was an utterly turgid film. Two frikkin hours of watching the "heros" wander around in the wilderness broken up by a few minutes of them pointing their sticks at the bad guys. Ugh! I wasn't a fan of the previous movies but at least they were mildly entertaining but the last one was mind-numbingly dull...
What's a turgid?? I have never heard that adjective before. And I'm hoping your saying this cos you enjoy the books.
I take it that you haven't read the books. That's just what happens in the books. The movies stay mostly true to the books. It was sort of the point since they had to find the horcruxes and you can't just pick a random place to find it.
no, no interest in reading the books. judging from the movies I wouldn't like them very much. I'm a big fantasy/sword & Scorcery fan but my tastes lean towards Conan and Tolkein. The Potter stuff just doesn't grab me. But the movie was boring as hell...
Well at least you read. Otherwise my response would have been quite angry. But ya thats what happens in the book. Its the whole point of finding the horcruxes and staying hidden. You dont walk down the street screaming "Hey Deatheaters, im here", I would hope not anyway. And is it pronounced like turge-id or just straight turgid.
lol, yeah...turj-id. I like the word myself. The problem for me with the Potter stories is that it feels like everything that happens in the tales - every element of the world - doesn't exist until its needed for the story to progress. The world itself doesn't feel "organic" - it feels like nothing but a narrative construct. I wouldn't be surprised if the story ended with Harry pointing his stick at the big bad dude and saying "killultimateevilonicus!"...
But thats because you watch the movies. LotR is the exact same in the movies because there just isnt enough to time to show and tell everything. The books of both LotR and Harry Potter show the universe that they have created but the movies cant. They give you the base story and what surrouns that.
well just finished the book in preparation and Im wondering will some stuff get cut. The movie is two hours and there seems to be a lot to put in. And judging by the jumping off scene something is different. My guess is the dumbledore scene and aberforth are going to be out seems as the dumbledore story was ignored in part 1. I just hope the snape scenes are done right as they are really important.
