Any comments? This is the best game I've worked on, including Underworlds (which was one of Touch Arcades top 30 iphone games of 2009). Although different of course, I also think it is as fun as some of the PC/Console games I've worked on including Deus Ex and System Shock.
You should add some annotations or a voice over. I didn't understand the rules at all. The graphics are good.
The rules are pretty simple, you tap one of the 8 columns to drop the dice onto the board to try to make any combination of 8's. Making an 8 clears the dice involved and gives you points. If you match 2 4's, that is considered a "hard 8" and surrounding game pieces are blown up (and bonus chips are added for you to collect). There are 2 types of power-ups. 1) Cherries. Collecting 3 cherries gives you a cherry bomb which clears the selected column and bottom row of all blockers and dice. 2) Fruits. Collecting all 3 fruits (you get a fruit by making two 8's with 1 dice drop) removes all blockers from the board. There are 3 game modes: 1) Puzzle. First mode shown. there are diamonds on the board that must be cleared to complete the level and unlock the next level. 2) Challenge. Free play mode. See how long you can last. 3) Tournament. Challenge mode, except with the same random seed, so every game is the same pattern.
Addictive Game I did some Beta Testing on this game. I found it completely addictive! I am still trying to beat my personal best in the Challenge Mode. Check it out!
I have been playing this more than the original Drop7 the game is modeled after! Hard 8s really does cause a difference in game play.
