I loved the old Wii Sport Tennis!
Thats the main reason we created this game too! It felt very natural to just swing the remote.
Too bad Siri Remote only have accelerometer, so it cannot perform like the more advance tennis games that uses the wiimote-plus.

Will be too laggy and I think it's more fun to play as a party game. if the opponent is good you need to respond within 0.1sec (to counter his smash) which is near impossible over the internet.

    Hey,

I've been testing this and it's a lot of fun (we tried it at a party the other day and it worked quite well).

It'd be nice to have a bit more control of the ball (I know this might not be possible with the Siri remote, but the iPhone should have all the motion data to do it right?). Being able to hit the ball left and right in Wii tennis was a key part of the game.. unless I just haven't figured out how to do it properly in Happy Tennis?

Also the game feels a bit sparse outside the tennis court, maybe a tutorial, scoreboards, other bits and bobs would be nice? A tournament mode maybe?

It's a bit tricky to figure out how I'm choosing which player I am, and whether or not it's going to be a CPU etc.

Overall it's a lot of fun though :)

with iPhone, its possible, but we choose not to code that in.
It will be very disadvantageous for the person with the Siri remote, thus spoiling the fun.
you can control the left/right direction slightly by having a slightly faster/slower reaction to the swing, depending on the character's swing direction.

    Love it!!

I just played a few rounds and so far it's better than beat music! Plays just like the Wii sports and am loving every minute of it!

If you have an iTunes account from any of the soft launch countries you can get the free controller app (search "happy tennis remote") for iOS devices.
They can connect to the apple TV as 2nd/3rd/4th player and you will have a party!

I totally get you don't want to spoil it for the player with a siri remote in multiplayer.. maybe add a pro option if everyone is using iphone controllers? That kind of control would make this game SO amazing!

For me that's what made Wii Tennis so compelling.. it was easy to swing around the remote and get started, but once you got into it there was a surprising depth to the control which kept you coming back for more!
