For them to show up quickly in your friends screen on happy street I found you need to: Once you accept the request/your request is accepted, completely quit out of Happy street [eg multi swipe in any direction, click and hold till you see a reg circle + minus sign, and click the minus to fully quit out of the game], then re-enter the game. This should bring your newly acquainted friends into the friends world screen.
