*pulls foot from mouth* Douh! I'm still in either way. My biggest issue with swipe controls is having to make split second turns, like in pac-man. I can never get the swipe right and end up missing the turn or going in the wrong direction. I can't say I've ever played a first person game with swipe controls. Maybe that's the missing ingredient I've been needing. Anyways, very much looking forward to this. Keep up the good work and keep those awesome character models coming.
I've had a chance to try an early version of this game and I have to say it is pretty cool! It definitely does feel like a First Person Pac Man Styled Game! You auto run around the dungeons collecting coins, completing quests and collecting weapons. As you go deeper the enemies get more frequent and there are random traps to negotiate. There will be a store to purchase with items/upgrades with coins collected but it's not working yet..exited to see where this game goes from here! Nice job Josh!
We have a lot of characters so far - but we're just getting to the point of integrating the boss rooms and finishing up the perks in the shop. We've got daggers, swords, staves, a mace, bow, crossbow, bombs (think Zelda) and of course the hammer as weapons.
What are you unhappy with? It looks like another great character model to me. Although if this is for the icon maybe the hammer should be represented somehow. I'm not an artist so I don't have suggestions for how but it seems to me it should be there.
thanks! it looks good at larger sizes but when its small its really hard to see what's going on. I'll keep thinking about it...
You got me all excited at first. I thought someone was doing a game like Delver. I love that game. The auto run feature pretty much killed it for me. I guess I'm more of a hardcore RPG player and this sounds too simple for me. I do love the art style so far. I'm also not a big fan of swipe controls. Good luck with your game.
This game better kick ass. I should probably stop following this thread. Every time you post a screen shot, my desire to play the game increases. You're raising my expectations dangerously high, Josh. Question. If it's an autorunner, what is the up button for? Jump, maybe? Edit: one other thing, Is it a dungeon where you descend through levels or is it an endless maze?
Dpad would be cool but I am getting used to the swipe. I finally got to the first boss pretty cool. I ran into a quests on floor 5? To collect 50 coins. I think it would be a good idea to run into a quest sooner I didn't even know I could get one. Overall looking good excited to see Game Center added.
Beasts! Been awhile since I posted anything - so I decided to finish up the 'Beastiary' these are some of the the regular enemies, I decided only to post one of the bosses to keep a few of them a bit more mysterious. There are other enemies as well that I haven't fit on here, I may add to it later. I'm going to start working on a trailer with some game footage next week I think. This will be the next CM game out - likely end of March!
Beta Testing! Ok all, I'm opening this up for limited Beta Testing. PM me if you want in with your Testflight email.
Can't wait! Just PMed you and can't wait to play this! Can I Mobcrush it? I'm BearKiddy if you want to watch.
Sorry that I didn't answer this - It is an auto runner if you choose the swipe controls option. If you use the dpad controls its more like a regular dungeon crawler, but its a lot harder. Yes that's jump. There are traps and some enemies you need to jump over. There are an infinite number of levels, called stages. Its procedurally generated.
