Sony is so desperate for sales they're launching PSP Essentials, where they develop games for toddlers that you download from the PS Store.
PSP Essentials have been on the EU PSN store for ages, they're not aimed at children at all... they're just... essential PSP games. Either they're changing it to mean something different or IGN is wrong.
They're changing it, I suppose. This was the IGN Europe news feed I was looking at, after all. Why? Cause I can.
Young children meaning probably 8-11 or something, toddlers are fricking 3 and under hahahah they can't even wipe their own ass man.
I'm pretty sure that if you're console were tanking, you'd pull out all stops as well, however ridiculous the attempts may be. Only problem is that most parents will get the console with the more kid-friendly game library.
Sad thing is, the iDevice is pretty damned kid-friendly. My 19 month old daughter loves Sound Shaker, Bebot, Bobble Zoo and AWazDat. It's not easy getting the device away from her. I've seen dozens of kids playing on their parents iPads as well. That being said, I won't give up my DS - to hell with the touch screen or 3D, sometimes you need an honest-to-goodness D-Pad.
+1 Main reason why I still love my GBA Micro. It's super small, D-pad is perfect it's like playing an ergonomic NES controller, battery life is amazing, screen/resolution is bright colorful. I have a DS Lite, although I don't play it as much, I usually keep it out for my nephews and keep the Micro stashed.
