I’m not a lover of story. Even with Children of Morta. I didn’t skip the story, but I didn’t really listen. The gameplay shined and it was awesome. Think I still may pass on this one. So many games anyways, so little time. Thanks for the reply! Didn’t see you both said it’s a good game. I may give it a try lol.
Damn I’m gonna miss this forum. I looked at the discord, it just doesn’t feel the same. Gonna miss this community. And so many good games I bet lol. This is literally the only website or forum I have ever posted on or chatted on. I have no Facebook, twitter or Instagram. I don’t talk on any sites or even read any other forums. Losing this site is going to leave a large chunk of time in my days lol. I’m sad.
I did play a very small bit. Had to stop just shortly after I got the glove. I really like it so far. Love the map system. Movement feels quick and easy. I think I will enjoy this. I’m just not into hard plat forming for the sake of hard plat forming lol. I like action in my platforming and prefer a focus on that then a perfectly timed jump. That’s not to say I don’t enjoy those here and there. There was an awesome ninja one a bit back forgetting the name at the moment. But recently if I want that style I’ll play Supermeat Boy
@elcrazy I know what you mean, I’ve come and gone over so many years and can’t imagine not being able to come here. I don’t use any other forums either and I went to the discord but it’s not the same like you said and I don’t really like discord. It’s gonna really suck.
I agree with you. Discord is not the same feeling and for me too much blabla and chaos. After a week I deleted the Toucharcade Server Group. On this forum here I only posted euphoric or angry reviews or helped others if they couldn‘t figure out mechanics or solutions. But I loved to read the thoughts of members on this forum about games. The thoughts of people like you taught me what makes a good game good. And I loved that so many on this forum rejected moneygrabbing P2W Freemium Games. Thanks to all of you.
Although different, I've enjoyed my stay in the Discord channel for about 7 years now. Unfortunately, it has died off, pretty much in the same way the forum did, as it used to be bustling with people talking about videogames and other stuff in between. Nowadays, it's pretty much DOA in the same way as here. Keep in mind it's a sort of transition to avoid a complete loss of the irreplaceable forum vibe (btw, forum is a separate section from the chat rooms; so if you're not interested in chitchat, you can avoid it and focus on reading or creating threads), so we can't expect a 1:1 experience. New games have been posted, as well as existing ones, but the forum vibe requires user interaction and support, which so far hasn't taken off much, probably because people expect it to be already in place and active rather than contributing to its development (just like this forum, anyone can start a thread about a new game, or for one they love and would like to see there to exchange thoughts; it doesn't matter if it's already been said somewhere else, share your thoughts as I've seen some familiar nicknames do on AppRaven's comments section), so they just end up leaving. I've seen Zebe actively working on trying to make it an agreeable place and I'd hate to see what he's done go to waste. I wish I had known about the forum-like features of Discord to suggest them way before the closure announcement was made. Anyway, I think it's more about the people rather than the platform. Think of it as a bar closing down so you have to go somewhere else with your friends; you can't go alone or you probably won't have a good time there even if the drinks are cheaper. Spoiler Edit: P.S: No, I don't drink, I don't go to bars and, of course, I don't hang out with people; it's just a random analogy that came to mind. ---------- Now, about HAAK: I played it for about one hour when I got it on the Switch and I think the controls are great and the platforming (early in the game, at least) isn't too hard to overcome, so definitely not a hard game. The map is super easy to interpret and the art style is kinda nice as well. I think a minor gripe I have is the writing or localization (can't really remember what was wrong with it). It's definitely one of the games I want to finish, because I felt quality in it, but it's sitting there with a bunch of other unplayed games on the Switch and having games on my phone makes it harder to accomplish that goal. As others have stated, getting it on sale is definitely worth it if you're unsure about it, but I'd say enjoying it is more likely than regretting it.
