Excited to finally try out the iPhone version as well! It will be interesting to see if it plays differently than the Steam version.

Hello guys! I have just set Gunpowder Universal version for release a little bit ago. Depending on Apple's store and your location, you should start seeing it available over the next few hours.

Also I'm happy to announce that in celebration of this new universal release, we've set a 1 week long sale on it for 60% off!

(Also applicable on Amazon App store should you prefer your Android devices).

    Awesome! Can't wait!

EDIT: It's available now in the App Store! Just got it, played it for 5 minutes & love it (only stopped playing to report this.) The graphics are great on the iPhone and gameplay is awesome. So happy this is out. Now back to the game!

Excellent. I'm very happy that you're liking it! Please share as much as you can out there, we don't have a mongo marketing budget like a big company does, and doing a premium game now as mentioned earlier in this thread is very very challenging!

Thanks for making this game playable on the iPhone. It's a fantastic game that will keep occupied and entertained for those boring moments.

No, thank YOU for playing and enjoying it! =)

We hope to help many people enjoy a little more their cramped public transportation rides and ignore the smelly people, and take the edge off of toilet time. =) haha

I picked this up very early during the launch and had a great time with it, really hope the universal update gives the game more exposure. It's one of the best puzzle games on iOS in recent times.

Aw, thanks! I hope so too, let's see what happens.
If we had a dollar for every note like this... wait... wait we DO have a dollar for every note like this! =)

We would LOVE to be able to make some new levels for this game for you all, but we have a long long way to go to even catch up to the cost of making it... If you would like to see more meaty updates, keep your fingers crossed for us!

    Hm that's weird.
Well, he's a direct link that you can open on your phone, I tried it earlier:
Direct iOS App store link to Gunpowder

LMK if it still doesn't work.

I was about to pick this up but the file size looks pretty huge for a puzzle game. How big does this get once installed?

It is meaty but the production values are so good I can see why it takes up the amount of space it does. Great, great game. I played through it at launch and was absolutely astonished that it wasn't featured as a best new game at that time. For me this is the precise reason why the app store is currently broken. If a game like this doesn't get "curated" by Apple it has a very hard time succeeding. Hopefully the update will get either a best new update feature at a minimum. Also the reason why this site is important so support the Patreon if you haven't already.

I didn't know it was THAT big when installed, it's about 300mb download.
To get technical, every puzzle level is a completely 3d scene with its own high quality light mapping. Overkill for a puzzle game? maybe, but we just have this kind of quality bar in our hearts and minds, and it just kind of went that way.

Still though, that seems enormo, i'll take a look and see if we can find anywhere to reduce without making it look too crummy.
a huge amount of that size is just going to be light map textures.

But another unfortunate thing is that supporting both ARM7 and the now required by Apple 64 bit makes the executable size enormous (probably around 100mb of the total, where before it was probably more around 30 or 40)
