Ok so am I missing something or is this new event ridiculously hard? I can't even get through easy. I am upgrading my shield as much as possible while saving enough gears to deactivate the platforms on the boss but he still has 800 health and I just can't see any way to kill him with only 4 floors of leveling before he kills me.

Actually I think there may be a bug with the event boss. Deactivating the first platform reduces his HP, but deactivating the second has no effect. This is on the easiest difficulty.
Maybe skip easy try the next one. Might be harder but at least you'll have more floors to build up? Lol
The right platform halves his ATTACK, not his health,which is enormously helpful. I suggest you use the right platform first so your first hit taken is halved, then lower his HP as your second move. I have beaten simple and common. Simple gets you 1 or 2 fragments and common gets you 3-5. For the difficulty (and how often I get only 3 on common), I think I will stick with simple for the best use of vigor. The secret weapon is having Holy Warrior. His microcosm support skill (leveled as high as you can) as a soul link makes it possible to survive a long time. Any melee gumball with a great effect should be your main. Warrior or Swordsman or Spartan if you have him as your second soul link. For mains, Guardian is great, so is Armor, or Condotierre, or Night King, and maybe some others. Use burning concoction potion (100 damage with burning, 3 uses). That is approximately 330 damage off his 800 HP, so you can see you don't need to survive too long.
Yeah, awesome tips but I'm through the coliseum level and don't have any of those either. Definitely hampers you not being able to level up or collect spells in the easiest one.
I suppose that's my problem as well. I have none of the recommended gumballs. I really think the developers need to rethink the difficulty of the event. It's frustrating me to the point of making me not want to play the game at all any more. I've been playing for weeks. I should at least have a chance of beating the boss on the lowest difficulty.
Well I cant speak on the events but I am so frustrated not being able to pass a level without going back for DP that I kind of stopped playing.
Yeah the DP grind to move on is getting kind of ridiculous. Those points are coming very slowly and I need a lot of them.
The events are way too hard, IMHO. But regarding all of those Gumballs I recommended, I have only been playing for about 3 weeks and have only purchased 2 $0.99 daily bundles. I was not able to do the snowball event at all, but it didn't bother me too much. You can browse reddit, the official forums, and their facebook page to see if anyone else has a good strategy to get through this (the recommendations were just based on what Gumballs I had and what worked for me). There are also some good guides on how to quickly complete many areas' quests, if you need the DP for other areas.

Hey I was wondering. I did endless mode once I think I used bandit gumball, anyways at around floor 54ish I ran in to predator gumball just chillin on a square but greyed out and I couldn't click on him. What's up with that? I think it was the adventurers forest or whatever .. the first level lol. Isn't he the hidden ball for that lvl? Running in to him I should have unlocked him right?

- Have 500K, get predator helmet from predator corpse(if you get predator gene you cannot get the helm), after 50F+ normal floor he will appear semi transparent (Look carefully). When u see predator gumball, equip predator helm and pay him. For 20x of predator fragments, repeat above but no need to pay him again.
Noticing a lot of comments to the effect of 'it's too hard' and 'it's a grind'. And yeah, that is very much true, but it's really hard to balance the desire to progress with the desire to play the game. I'm personally of the opinion that it takes slightly too long to play the game ( it takes me about 3 hours to play through a single endless level most of the time) but when you DO go through that long endless stage with careful attention to the quests you generally get 30+ dp and often a Gumball or at least significant fragments. I've never felt like I was grinding for nothing. The airship mode is great fun but I think it unlocks too late - I had nearly given up on the game before it became available. That said I still think the airship matchmaking for raiding is a huge error, it disincentivizes you from upgrading teams evenly (if I focus on 1 team it gets me farther) and even disincentivizes you from upgrading all units on a single team (if you keep them low your "energy points" go up less and you face easier opponents. The real 'game' in that mode is about getting the most airship upgrades with the fewest Gumballs, since the matchmaking is always based on your Gumballs energy, and that is counter to how the rest of the game works...you should want to upgrade and earn lots of balls!
