    Hey guys,

I will be editing this post for updates on the game.

Sign up to be a beta tester! http://testflightapp.com/join/1ecffaa1557ad1b560bfb97138b42455-MTEyMTc5/

I'm working on another game, and it's called Gumball Mayhem.

It's a 2D side view tower defense game where you prevent gumballs from passing through by building towers. The gameplay will be full of strategy, fun and hectic.

Here's a video of my current progress (SEPT 12, 2012):

I'm planning on having a few upgradable towers:
    • Machine gun: single target, good rate of fire
    • Anti-Gumball Canon: splash damage canon
    • Gumball-Seeking Rocket: single target, wide range seeking rocket
    • Ice Emitter: emits ice in all directions to slow gumballs down
    • Wall Obstructor: builds a temporary wall to block the gumballs
    • Flame Thrower: shoots a stream of fire in 1 direction, can hit multiple gumballs
    • Money Maker: gives you money over time
    • Enhancer: makes adjacent towers more potent
    Tower artwork:

    Basic Gameplay:
    - Tower defense!
    - Gumballs (via physics and some contraptions) will try and reach the end of the screen
    - Build towers to kill the gumballs

The fun thing about these gumballs is that unlike other TD games, they can interact with the environment. Level-specific springs, gears, trap floors, conveyor belts will greatly add to the dynamics of the game.

    Tell me what you think!

    Update, obstructor

Not too sure about this, but it looks cool. The obstructor tower drops this temporary wall on the ground. It may topple over, so location is key.

    Icons

These are going to be the UI icons that will be displayed when selecting a type of tower to build:

Like the look of this. Like the art. Any idea when you might be releasing it?

    Screenshot

Good news, I have an early screenshot of the current state of the game. I'm having superb progress building the core of the game. Currently only 1 tower is working, and I'm using this 1 tower to test out everything first before proceeding with implementing the rest.

Also, I've created a TestFlight registration page for those who want to beta test the game. Beta testing should start in a few weeks! (The link is on the top of this thread)

Lastly, I made an icon for the game. Still unsure about this one though.

    Demo video

Hey guys, instead of showing screenshots I decided to make a short demo video of the early progress.

I'll need beta testers soon, so it would be great if anyone can help out!

    Progress update:

Level 1 rockets are done. The rockets are smart homing missiles. They lock on an enemy and chase it, but if the enemy dies before it can reach it.. the rocket finds the next closest enemy and targets that.

The video also shows the gigantic (and cool) fully upgraded cannon tower.
