Hello Gambrinous. I really enjoy the game but I too have constant crashes on my iPad Air 1 (about every 15 - 30 minutes of dungeoneering). Hopefully you guys can find the cause and banish the evil crash lord once and for all. Looking forward to the new update regardless though since it's a really nifty game.

There seems to be so much love about the game. Thinking about grabbing it, even if TA's review was not so optmistic.

Edit: Now I saw it was Carter Dotson. He might be the reviewer I disagree the most.

I always take reviews with a grain of salt especially if it's a reviewer whose taste doesn't match your own and for the most part I usually find the best parts of TA to be the forums, RPG reload, and the occasional article. For me the best way to judge a game before playing it is by finding multiple reviews and gauging the excitement in the forums post release.

If you think you would love the concept of building your own dungeon and letting your AI controlled adventurers run around fighting monsters and finding loot then I think there's a good chance you will enjoy this game. I also think the card based combat system is really nice.

We'll look into them. It's just crashing back to the home screen suddenly, right? No error message or anything? Sounds like some issues with memory.

Yes, right back to the home screen.

    wow, LOVE LOVE THIS GAME!!!

    some small issues or suggestions/questions.

wish the text could be a bit bigger or pinch and zoom for iPhones.

is there a reason we can't keep our character levels or equipment between missions? i get the rogue-like point of the game but wish we had some semblance of permanence. i like building up characters.

I have the same problem with the same device iPad Air, it crash in the worst moment, selecting the loot after a battle, and it goes to home screen with no error message just the game closing. It looks like a memory problem like you suggest but I hope it's possible to optimize on that. I enjoy a lot the game even with that so I recommend it to people that likes card games

Going to have a look at this before our next patch, hope to fix or at least improve it.

Yep it can be a bit tough to read on phones. I want to try pinch and zoom (or redo more screens - eg the battle screen is completely different on phones), just need to find the time!

The character reset is just one of the main facets of the game - like you said it came from the roguelike genre. All the quests are balanced around starting afresh each dungeon run. If it helps you can think of the Guild itself as the thing you are building up. One thing that does stick around is the battle scars: just a little bit of diversity for each hero.

Also, thank you! Glad you like it!

Ice Cream Headaches is coming out for PC & Mac on October 27th (next Thursday). We'll start preparing it for mobile right after that - just don't have a date right now.

Hey, great game. Pretty new to it but really enyoing it,

Just one bug to report: if i mute my iPad Air 2 completely (dnd + disable notifications) every sound is still playing. That could lead to some unpleasant issues when you forgot to turn the volume down and rellia on those 2 settings to keep your iPad quite. Normally it keeps every app quite, except YouTube, so I hope that this will be the case for your game as well. Cheers!

Any reason why the game won't start up when I have almost 1GB of free space? I've tried restarting my iPhone 6S Plus with the latest iOS and am still getting the pop up about needing 500MBs of free space.

Yep, sorry about that. We had some trouble making the app respect the hardware mute switch initially but the good news is we've now fixed it. This will be out in the next update.

Annoying bug this one, especially since we're only trying to save about 8KB of data but a bug in Adobe AIR causes it to think there's zero space when there's clearly loads. Is this on first install of the game or was it previously working for you?

Both. I was eventually able to get it to run after getting around 1.2GBs of free space and then it stopped working again as soon as I installed a new 220MB game.

Just a question: is this a roguelite? Random?

    Yes and yes. Sort of.

You, as the Guild Leader, are persistent throughout as are the guild upgrades you unlock. These basically boil down to 'perks' that may give you a small boost during that run or access to new and more powerful cards.

Each dungeon run is random but each have specific goals that remain persistent. The randomness comes from how the dungeons are formed - each turn, you can lay up to 3 cards that are either dungeon sections (effectively your route through the dungeon), an enemy or a collectible such as gold or gems. So whilst the goals remain the same, how you get to them will be different every time.

Your dungeoneer (your playable characters) are generated by the guild upgrades - buying dormitories, libraries etc unlock different classes. The pick ups they get during a run through a dungeon quest only last for that run. They can however pick up battle scars which again give them small perks to help them along. However, your dungeoneers are expendable - like, really expendable! Expect to lose them regularly. But that's part of the game and part of how you progress.

On the surface it seems a fairly throwaway game but keep playing for a bit and you start to see the more nuanced gameplay and slowly, it becomes really very addictive - just one more run addictive.

    Hope that helps.
