No, don't buy it for an iPad Mini 1. It simply doesn't have the memory or processor to play the game I'm afraid. It's very unlikely we'll be able to make it work in future either. Same goes for similar hardware like iPad2 and iPhone4.

Thanks for the response! You saved me from going through the whole refund process ( which takes a week before I can buy something else).
Looks like I'll buy the steam version instead!

I bought this last night. Too many good comments to resist. :) I also like your pricing scheme.

    Hello!

I had a ball with the campaign and I'm looking forward to PC and other items on the road map.
    Great game!

    Ideas:

    1) A persistent count of the number of corpses in the graveyard at the end of a campaign. Something that sticks around, so I can start a new game, end it with, say, 15 corpses in the GY, and see that I beat my previous run of 143 corpses. (Display lowest final body count on the main menu?)

    2) re: Hard mode: A glory cost to replace Dungeoneers. Maybe just the ones from the current tier? Something that might make me replay Boss fights (and with lower tier dudes!) if I suffer a string of losses.

What I'm fishing for with both ideas is something that'll make losing a quest sting more.

    3) Tougher choices in the dungeon card portion of the game. No specific idea ... just make it harder, please :)

I am getting sick of the bs that the computer opponent does.
Let's just say that it "knows" what bs cards to play to catch up and kick you teeth in. I don't mind losing, just not by bs standards.

Sorry my rant of the day

This came out strongly in the survey we took recently too. It's something I've been thinking about for some time. We're seeing if we can sneak some way to change this into our next expansion (which we've now started working on)

All the monsters have set decks and they are shuffled randomly. You'll start to know which card is coming up next when they are down to 1-2 cards left in their deck as you play more. There's no changing cards dynamically to kick your teeth in.

Having a blast with the game even though the frequent crashes on my iPad mini and iPod touch 5g are a little annoying. Still happy to support such a unique and charming game, so don't regret the purchase at all :)

Pirate's Cove will be released in the next few hours. It's a free update for all of you who have the game already, and we'll be permanently increasing the price from $3.99 to $4.99 sometime tomorrow.

This is a huge expansion adding about 30% more content to the game:
    - 27 new equippable items to find
    - 23 new monsters to battle
    - 3 new classes of dungeoneer
    - a whole new region with 21 new quests. You can find this in the Jungle (if you have previously cleared the jungle, just do a boss rematch there)

Difficulty-wise the pirates cove region is about the same as the jungle. If you have completely cleared the game you will probably find it too easy with an end-game guild. If you like you can skip straight to the jungle when you start a new game by choosing the 'jungle shortcut' option (handy if you just want to jump into the new quests). The new loot is spread throughout the game though, so you can enjoy that no matter where you are in the campaign.

Super happy it's out! Sad though that the difficulty is similar to Jungle. Guess I can try and beat it only with tier 1 classes or some such.

When is the next, more challenging, content on the way??? :)

Thank you so much Gambrinous for the update and for making the expansion free. I'm going to dive in now. Your hard work is greatly appreciated!

The loot changes the whole game btw, so handy if you wanted to replay. There's extra loot in the starting set (what you find in a brand new game) plus 2 more pieces in every loot upgrade you build.

We've started working on another expansion, will be announcing details of that soon enough.

But I think what you may like most is the Trophy Trial game mode, which we put on hold while we finished up the mobile version of the game. It's a whole new way to play separate from the single player campaign. Basically a high score challenge mode where you are given a class (and some special rules) and then you have to try and beat ever-more-difficult quests, and you need to decide when you want to quit and lock in your score (if you die you score 0).

Here's a more detailed description of it:
    http://steamcommunity.com/games/317820/announcements/detail/72420586372565695

And here's a stream I did showing gameplay and explaining how it works:
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4ONNe3c2ZOI

Not sure yet when it's going to be ready. As you can see above the gameplay is done, but we still have to do all the important scoring/leaderboards/daily challenge stuff for it, which can be quite complex.

    Update buggy...

The update is constantly crashing on my iPad mini 2. It's mostly during the choice of loot at the end of a battle (though I think I've seen it elsewhere also). Sometimes, I can only go 2 battles (and 2 loot choices) before it crashes. It happens when switching from one loot to another (to look at its stats). My suspicion is that it's a memory problem...

  16. Oooh looking forward to this! Love the game, but didn't realize Pirates Cove would be easier than the older content. I flew threw it quickly and am thirsty for more. Endless content sounds great. :)

I'm getting frequent freezes but it only seems (so far) to be in the dungeon in which you are trying to beat the Mimic. I'll be in my second or third battle and then WHAMMO nothing moves.

Cheers for the info about crashing. Which device are you playing on?

We've just announced a new expansion called Ice Cream Headaches. It's as big as Pirate's Cove (about 30% the size of the base game) and it's coming to PC & Mac on October 27th. We'll work on it for mobile after that - no date yet.
