Sorry, wasn't keeping track of time played. I think about 12 hours. Played a lot but was also busy with other things.
If you got annihilated because of a bad starting hand, then chances are that you set up a bad situation for yourself. It is all about mitigating risk by choosing the right character, fighting the right monsters, acquiring the right gear and leveling up, etc. Don't think I ever managed to complete a single quest with one. I had much more early success with the bruiser until I got Ranger and Shapeshifter unlocked. There is no leveling up of characters. You are a guild master. They are disposable peons. If one dies, you simply recruit another. You level up your GUILD. Even a failed quest contributes to that. Aside from the barbarian, they can be most easily lured by enemies of their same level and shinies.
I do have an error with a picture to report but the TA app doesn't really let me do that anymore. I haven't really used the physical classes yet but may have to start trying to them as some battles certainly would be easier with one.
I don't believe I've seen this discussed previously in this thread. This is especially relevant to when you are running from a boss (who always travels 2 squares at a time it seems). What dictates whether you can lure your dungeoneer two squares instead of one? Sometimes I can draw him 2 over and sometimes he will instead stop on the next square instead. In either case that first/intervening square is empty.
If the tile has not been explored yet, they won't move through it. If it has been, they should. It's kind of easy to miss this because near the start, there are more pre-placed, but already explored, tiles I think.
Ah ok, thanks. So that means having to backtrack I guess, thus undoing any benefit of going two squares when running from (or to, like this vague "ritual" mission) something.
This is such a great game and I'm so glad to have bought it at this point. I've just started unlocking second tier stuff and helpful to get those better items. The art and music just seal the deal, too. I am a graph paper addict (always dreaming up games myself) and the music is hilarious and so fitting. A++ I literally have no complaints about the game, just I hate getting a bad hand but seriously, what game doesn't that happen in sometimes?!
What I've read you can also do is to drop a minion in front of the boss to slow down its forward movement. A strategy I've done for those quests is to put a minion right in front of the boss, place a new tile ahead of me and a minion that I can battle for gear.
So after installing it on my iPad air there's no way I can play it on the phone now. What a difference. I can see everything now#. Amazing game.
I want to love this game. I really do. But man I HATE the current battle system. I would love so much for a redraw option or a way to pick from your whole deck. I've had it with being given three random shitty cards and I just get pummeled, when I know I have what I need in the deck.
I'll admit it can be frustrating, but so much of the game, be it classes, traits, or battlescars, is all pretty carefully balanced, if you could choose your own cards then you'd clearly just leave out all of the balancing weaknesses (aspects nobody would choose to have in their deck if they had a choice).
Yep, completely agree. On missions I know are heavy magic, I bring the apprentice... if I know the boss who pummelled me last time was all physical, I draw the physical cards as much as I can.. The trial-and-error is a little skewed towards crappy draws, but I think it should get balanced out slighlty over the next few content updates? They seem like active forumites....
Good game but far too many crashes on iPad mini, this is with the last update on the store. Last crash was on picking loot, another crash I think was as moving two rooms.
I am also getting regular crashes - always seemingly on trying to display the "you gain / "you lose" info in the LAST loot card on the right of your choices after winning a fight. iPad mini 3 and iPad Air 1 it's the same. 1 in 10 times it will bomb.
