So, GTA:V has been announced with a trailer promised on 2nd November 2011 I had a feeling we'd be seeing this sometime soon, what with all the commotion with their 10 year anniversary of #3. Funnily enough, when I 'Googled' GTA:V, the official link for the Rock* website was www.rockstargames.com/sanandreas Also, the number 5 in their logo is dollar sign-esque - similar to San Andreas' style.
I have a feeling that it will take place in Vice City, as the V is colored and they have the word "Five" written across it. Just a thought.
My GTA V Wishlist -The insanity of GTA San Andreas -The ability to use your own music on the console version of this game -Insane Cheats - The Return of Lovefist -The original GTA Hidden as an unlockable -Same-screen multiplayer -The return of robberies -The return of Dancing -The return of character skins -The return of RPG elements -Playable Female Character -A story as good as TBoGT (Not too serious) -The return of low riders
I wouldn't mind to see San Andreas with better graphics again ^^ I just wish they won't mess up the PC version that much like they did with IV...
Personally I hope it's not set in San Andreas or Vegas. I would much prefer it to be in Vice City or somewhere new. There were rumours a while ago about it possibly being set in France. That would be cool, but it doesn't look at all likely now. The "V FIVE" logo looks like part of an American five dollar bank note. Oh and although it's not at all likely, I really hope it's not set in the UK. That would probably be the dullest, most boring place you could pick for a GTA game.
I wouldn't have said UK was a boring place for a setting! But almost definitely, if set in UK, they'd go for the generic Cockney gangster even though barely anyone speaks like that!
Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe the first game had 2 expansion packs that took place in London.

Yeah that's true. But a top down GTA set in 60s England is much different than a full 3D GTA set in present day England, or at least I would imagine. We have no guns here and lots of petty crime. Instead of doing drive-bys, big drug deals, bank robberies and gang warfare it would be mugging old ladies, vandalising property, intimidating the public, and other chav activities. I suppose it would be something different but it wouldn't be the classic GTA that we all know and love.
Assumptions and a lot more assumptions... I wish for more playable characters though... I want a female character finally..
I'd really like San Andreas. Vice City was awesome, but the map was way too flat. Plus, San Andreas marks the last truly great GTA game... IV was majorly disappointing post-game with so much emphasis on storytelling and realism completely knocking all the fun out of the window. For that reason I'm not excited for V just yet, I'd rather be playing Saints Row 3... the true successor to GTA:SA. I'll always give Rockstar another chance though, I just hope they can redeem themselves.
GTA V trailer is up, and it looks like it will be set in present day San Andreas. San Andreas isn't my favourite GTA location, but I'm pleased at how it looks. http://www.rockstargames.com/ edit - it could just be Los Santos. San Fierro and Las Venturas weren't featured in the trailer.
