Shouldn't R* at least tell us when it's going to be released?Last year, I remember them telling us the release date well before the end of November(granted Vice City got released earlier than San Andreas will get released but still...).
Naughty dog is a sony company so that's a bit of a pipe dream. And just because there are very few developers using the newest chips to the maximum potential is because We are only at the beginning of the ios renaissance. The ps1 started with all 2D games before the classics like tombraider made 3D a reality and the fruits of their labor was the ps2 and that was really the renaissance period of play station - as it is the highest selling console in the world, and it changed the dimensions of gaming. For you to complain about the types of games out on ios as not reaching the full potential the AX chip has given us is not correct. We willl see games like infinity blade, GTA: San Andreas, real racing, and even the early ones like angry birds or doodle jump, as pioneers for the future of IOS gaming. This time last year I was confident we would never see gta San Andreas in ios because it was just too much for my iPad to handle. A year from now and we are getting a graphic rework to look even better than gta ever did! Next year we could see games at the same status as The Last Of Us, or gta V on our iPads and iPhones. To say we are not getting the full benefits that come with apples technologogical leaps is not true. Sometimes you need to go back to the past to appreciate the present.
Devs can afford to sell there high end games on the iOS platform for a minimum if $5 because there way more ios users = more sales. I don't see the guys at xcom complaining about sales, infact they were overwhelmed by the initial figures. All they're doing now is reducing the price to churn out as much sales as possible through greed. Next they will reduce the game further for more sales, watch the game shoot to possibly #1 spot when it reduces to $0.99 I'm sure it will. Thats when sales will break through further. Same thing happen with IB 1&2, those guys are happy with the strategy they pulled off. Same with the R* guys. Mobile sales for big mobile games are better than there console counter parts over the long run.
Does anyone know if there's any performance difference on Vice City between 5 and 5s bar loading?!Is draw distance better for example?!
The last Update for VC was back in march 2013. So, there isn't any optimization for the 5S like higher draw distance, etc. which would require proper adjustment in game code (or an text file inside the game folder). Loading times were already fast on iPhone 5. Maybe the 5S will squeeze out another second? Dunno for sure.
haha yeah it was bigfoot. My bad. No mods, I played the PS2 version But it would be really cool if Rockstar included that in the iOS port.
I dont understand why most mobile developers dont give solid release dates a few months before they release an app.
This is killing me. Even though I'll play it for 5 minutes and then promptly forget about it. Oooh, something shiny! <wanders off>
"Even though I'll play it for 5 minutes and then promptly forget about it." That pretty much perfectly sums up my own situation. I check for news about this game endlessly, can't wait for it, will buy it the second it comes out, play one level... and then forget about it until I'm looking for games to clear off my phone to make room for other new games that I also probably won't play. Having said that- I'm still pretty excited for this.
