Personally I think view from above would be better for touch controls. Remember how it was easy to control GTA 2 with keyboard. In addition, I don't think that GTA 2 port would be a big problem for iPhone.
lol you obviously have never played gta, gta2, or gta london which were the first gta games (2d) the predated the 3d games. so it is real gta
also i cant wait for this. i loved this game on my ds. but the only thing im worried about is how it will sell. i mean rockstar is probably gonna ask at least for this. and the majority of people that have an ipod touch really dont care about the difference between cw and payback. and they will buy payback due to it being much cheaper. another thing is the competition to gangstar. many so called gamers nowadays dont remember a 2d gta and have only played the 3d ones. and im sure all the stupid kids will by gangstar cause its 3d and looks cooler then cw. just some obseverations

They should do if Rockstar is good with its marketing. They will need to press the point that it is fully 3D, as they will have whiners saying that it is 2D. But, in the case of the AppStore, exposure is the main issue and Rockstar will have to combat that well.
So you think that despite the game being called 'GTA: Chinatown Wars' by Rockstar, some people would think that it is a GTA knock off? They would have to be illiterate/extremely retarded to think that. And what's wrong with a GTA knock off anyway? Gang$tar is a good 'knock off', as is 'Payback'.
knock-off's are good. but they lack what the originals have since this is a direct port of a FULL console game.. its gonna be great not just some knock-off. its actually a proper, massive budjet console game

From what I've played so far, in one mission you only ride in a helicopter, releasing molotoves while the helicopter is controlled by someone automatically. There's a cheat code for flying a helicopter?!

rockstar will, they did it for the psp games, im pretty sure theyll do it for the itouch and psp version. And they said that they are adding more content for the psp version, which the ipod version is based off of.
The main issue or this game, in my opinion, will be gaining visibility on the AppStore. Although, Rockstar do have enough money to hire one of the advertising slots.
What are you on about. Any game that comes in with a famous, well known title will do well. Even if the game sucks. Of all the Golf games look which one is top even though it costs the most. Tiger Woods. Look at Sims, NFS, Civ Rev, even mass effect did well enough although it sucked.
You have a good point there. Maybe I am underestimating the AppStore. I didn't know that! That means it is sure to get a spot. A high profile game like GTA: CW would definately bring apple lots of revenue.
I have this for the DSi and I really didn't get into it. It is definitley one of the better games on the system, but there is just something missing... it's probably the lack of adrenalin rush you get when playing GTA4 while killing someone or running from a 5 star cop chase. The act of murder, it's just so unsatisfying and distasteful in this cartoony version. I will admit it is still a good game though. Hmmm... and I find Dexter The Game to be so beautiful and satisfying...
Hey how do you think China town wars would be as down loadable content for the 360? Like using the same characters/missions but with gta 4 graphics.
