Ahhh. :D Thanks for clearing that up. It's been confusing to know what game exactly is in dimensional terms. So it's 3D, just not 3rd person.

eh to me its still like payback, which isn't bad, but it'd be better without the top down view

It truly is like Payback in it's camera angle. But in content, things to do, difficulty, weather effects, and day/night cycle, it's completely different.

Payback was originally made as a GTA 1 clone for Amiga in 2001, since they had no GTA. Supply and demand is still the most important aspect of marketing (see Gameloft). GTA CW, however, is taken with a different approach. Instead of making another top down like GTA 1&2, they made 3/4 viewed version of GTA 4, so it would fit on mobile devices, such as the DS, PSP, and our favorite little device, the iPhone/iPod Touch.

What I'm trying to say is that the game was made to be more like the current GTA console games.

One thing I would like to know is: how is the radio in Chinatown Wars? Does it have stations with licensed music?

From the DS version, very plain. No funny commercials. No actual singing.

It is third person. It's just not over the shoulder 3rd person like in WoW or Mass Effect.

I hope we can create our own radio playlists as well as whatever is in the game.

indeed it is 3rd person lol, and i think that rockstar will make this game quite an enjoyable experience. Rockstar has yet to let me down with a GTA game, or almost any game. The only game they let me down with was Smugglers Run, but since im a hardcore Rockstar fan.... i still bought it. I own pretty much every game Rockstars made, including Oni and all their remakes on the gbc, and they have yet to disappoint me. They also put custom radios in an update on the psp liberty city stories, so Im pretty sure they will put it on this one.

I really can't wait! The iPhone's connectivity would make an online DM feature possible (like GTA IV), as much as I doubt it's going to happen. :D

One of my worst fears is that they will use the accelerometer for controls. :S

Lol same fear, im hoping for a virtual analog. Because on the ds the controls were good. Id love to see it with analog controls, with a type of tap and hold any where on the screen to shoot, so you could strafe and shoot. Maybe a swipe to attack with melee weapons, or maybe just a virtual button, i dunno, as long as its fun.

Oy! That would be HORRIBLE, I would never forgive Rockstar if they used the accelerometer for controls... It just won't do.

Well, I'll help you guys out, seeing as how I'm in America. :) Fall is from September to November, so we should see the game come out maybe next month or in November.

No problem! It's okay, seeing as how you're not living in America... I'd say you're lucky! :p

lol accelerometer controls on gta would ruin the fun... i wouldnt mind if it was an option, but seriously, carnage isnt the same when your tilting your ipod....

It worked perfectly on Payback. I don't think it took from carnage in that game. I'd rather tilt to steer and turn my camera angle then have to swipe my thumb to change camera angle and not be able to drive. If they shouldn't use the accelerometer for steering, then what should they use?
