Can someone show how to do this on a mac? trying to use crossover to use IMG tool but doesn't seem to work
Alright tried the car mod on my iphone 4. I tried to resume game but loading always gets hung up in one place. Does this have anything to do with using the 4s traffic lights and blood and the low resolution mod?

Did you download the correct file... iPhone4S & iPad2 - ModdedIMGfile iPhone4 & iPad - iPhone4ModdedIMGfile I can confirm that your save file will resume without any problems (without modded gta3.set). I haven't tried anyone elses mods in conjunction with my own. Can someone else confirm that this is a gta3.set file problem by installing my mod then resuming their saved game (without a modded gta3.set file)
I used the LBG gta set file and used your modded files for the correct device (no issues here) and used the higher res files for my ipad2 all works great
I do in fact have the correct one. Seems very strange that doing this with a modded .set actually is causing the problem. My loading bar always gets towards the end and like one centimeter of the bat won't load. If I have to re-start the game I don't care because I didn't even get that far. I did notice you said there were 6 files but there's actually 7. there's a oldveh_pvr.img in there with the rest along with the oldveh_pvr.dir
so my app is censored, so theres no blood even if i change the language. which line activated the blood, is it even possible to activate it in a censored app?
Sorry... it's a typo, they are 6 files to replace and 1 to add, making a total of 7 files. I've tested this mod on many devices so-far without a problem, the only difference between the ones I've tested and yours seems to be the gta.set file I will say that these custom cars use a higher polygon resolution than the stock cars, so if you've got your .set file set to a high draw distance with effects added then this will hit your memory pretty hard on iphone4 and below. Some of these textures run upto 30,000 polygons on the iPhone4S & iPad2 and they look superb!
Wow totally forgot to delete the old files! wow haha maybe it'll work.... Just tried to delete them but it isn't working... I'm on a mac Alright now I got them deleted but know it just keeps crashing... Should I just reinstall it? is there any way to take my save file out of the app with iexplorer?
To backup your save files navigate to Apps/com.rockstargames.gta3ios/Documents in iExplorer you should now see your gta3.set file, any other files in there are your save files, ie GTA3sf1.b The best advice I can suggest is to delete the app, re-install it then add my mod. Now I would backup my gta3.set file then start to change the values untill I found a happy medium between performance and effects.
So you've deleted the GTA3 app, then re-installed it. Deleted everything from your Documents folder (so it's empty), then dragged and dropped all 7 files into gta3.app, started a new game and you still receive a crash, Hmm...can't see how you are having this problem. I've tested this on iPhone4S, iPad2, Iphone4 (Jailbroken) & iPad all running iOS 5.0.1 with zero errors...
I wouldn't say this mod makes the graphics on the iPhone4S better, it replaces some of the stock cars with real cars, some with incredible detail. I'll be adding hi-res building texture replacements aswell, like Mcdonalds & Starbucks for example, in later posts.

Great news, glad you finally got it working Yes I have got the batmobile to work (but with messed up wheels), so I didn't add it to my list of custom cars. It has texture problems. I've have already uploaded my oldveh_pvr.img file with 9 custom cars added You can find it here, iPhone4ModdedIMGfile *I'm starting to get reports that this mod doesn't work on iPhone3GS... Can someone confirm this for me please?? I think my mod uses textures that are too high in polygons for anything below an A4 processor. UPDATE: Now it's been fully tested on multiple iPhone3GS and I CAN CONFIRM THAT IT WORKS... but may crash after a while due to low memory.
