I think the AI suffers from the same stuff RR3 does with it's user data, the AI cars slowly become so good that it's a real challenge to beat them and the AI while they seem to follow set patterns while racing they speed up out of corners a lot faster then I can, makes me think they are rubber banding to the downloaded times given to them by other drivers. All AI cars seem to corner like champions.
I'll be interested to see if this still seems to be an issue after you all have invested in some top speed/acceleration upgrades. Definitely keep letting me know though. If it seems like the AI is just constantly beating a maxed out car with a driver who has above average skill, it might need to be tweaked
Been playing it for a day now and i must say that i'm loving it! If gameloft can fix the occasional stuttering and tweak ik some more here and there, this will be a huge hit!! And for people saying: RR3 is better, RR3 has better graphics, RR3 is......bla bla bla.... GO PLAY RR3!!! I'm having fun with it, even more than RR3!
I love the scenery, and the track preview that shows the car racing along until you start the race. On my iphone 4s with the latest ios, the game crashes on me after every single race. At least it does not lose my winnings or stars. Like NFS Shift 2, you get points for taking each corner well. Wondering if that is per race (ie. you are supposed to get all the corners in each race) or if the game keeps record of that track and then awards you if you get all the corners (regardless of how many races it takes you to do so)?
just go into your account info and change your country. You just need a Canadian Zip Code (the address can be "1" if you want). After downloading the game. Change your country back.
It already saves to the cloud so unlike RR3 you don't have to jump through hoops to exchange your save once your region has a release. The game is rather fun, there is no paying to fix damage (for what I have seen so far) and the only time you can't drive your car is when you have parts being fitted to it.
***Cockpit view needs major improvement. This should be the main focus of a "sim racer". --Noticeable Frame-rate drops when in cockpit mode --view dash looks great, but hinders view of upcoming turns, hills, and sometimes the race line. Feels more like a novelty than a functional viewpoint. 3rd person with touch controls looks/feels great, but like most people, I don't drive my car from the outside. "Real" is in the driver's seat. --Driver's head too stiff. There should be a slight head shift in the direction you are turning to help with peripheral vision. Even the old Need for Speed Shift years ago had a more immersive driver's view. Hitting the brakes and accelerating should have some kind of pull and push on the position of the dash. 2k-drive had this and even added a car freshener for added visual immersion. The Freemium model is nice though. No annoyances at all. I wouldn't get rid of 2k Drive yet, but if the driver's view isn't drastically changed, I couldn't see myself going any further than a few races and then deleting.
For those having crashing issues, I have a temp fix. Log out of gamecenter, and turn on airplane mode. Played last night for almost 2 hours. No crashes and no stuttering. Gameloft_Ryan, could you pass that on to developers? Could be a gamecenter issue.
Hm, I've noticed a few other games that crash since the new ios came out, and turning on airplane mode seems to help with that - so I guess it's not necessarily a specific game issue, but an ios issue.
I agree. It's a probably a new issue with how ios7 interacts with gamecenter. Hopefully this will give gameloft a chance to isolate it before it's worldwide release.
I've heard about issues with Game Center as well recently. I think that's an iOS issue and not something we have control over. I'll mention it though to confirm.
You should better write them emails, if you want to complain about poor optimization. On these forums they probably muted you anyway after reading the same old whinefest again and again, same as a lot of other users. But, well maybe you keep repeating it here, because you have another motive
I think the game visually looks great, they are also using some anti analyzing on more powerful devices compared to RR3, it's mostly the handling which let's the game down IMO You can tap the brakes and power around nearly every corner in the game, try that in most other sim racers and you will be off the track. Also it's way too easy to just power over corners instead of driving them with a proper racing line, why use the brakes when the dirt does it for me? IMO traction needs to be a lot less on grass so you have more of a chance to slide and skid out then cut the corner.
